I must admit that when it came to money i was clueless. I hated that feeling of not knowing. I got busy reading and learning how what i can do to make sure when i am ready to retire I will have no worries. What steps have you taken to make sure when you are ready to retire you will be able to live comfortable without worries?

We are trying to get ready for my husband to retire also in about 10 years or so. we are trying to get what we need now and pay everything off before he does so. We are also trying to save some money also to make sure we have enough to cover our bills and any emergencies that may come up also but it is very hard to do when our income is limited. I think we will always have some worries.

Have you tried doing GPT sites? They are all free to join and have great tutorials on how to complete offers. I just started doing these types of sites in May and have made some good money on them that I am able to pay doing some bills with. Check out my blog for a few good ones....sign up and like I said, check out the how-to guides that explain how GPT sites work if you haven't done them before. My two favorites are SpareStash and MyCashSafari...once you get the hang of these, they are really easy to make some extra money from. Here is a link to my blog: http://jenjen98.blogspot.com

trust me i hear what you are saying for sure about limited income. i have three children and i don't make that much money. what i am doing is cutting down on things that i know i don't need. if you start putting just two dollars away a day into a savings account with very high interest then you will a nice little nest egg in ten years. i know that you have at least $2 a day to put away.

Yes. We are trying to pay some things off first before we start making an actual good savings account. We are trying to eliminate alot of interest on the things we have bought and then the extra will go into savings. $2.00 is a very good start though. I do agree with that.

No, I don't think we are. I really don't know where to start in terms of saving for retirement. I know my husband has a plan through work but I don't really know much about those sorts of things. We do have a savings account but go into it often. I have seen lots of flyers come our way through the mail from certain places but have not taken a good look into any retirement plans. Because we have moved three different countries, I am not sure where this job will lead our small family to. However I suppose it is never too late to start. If you have any suggestions I would be interested. Thanks.

well when you open and account online, no matter what country you are in you can put money in or take it out. but the goal of saving is to not take the money out. so you should have to savings account. one account for retirement and one for just in case. i would suggest that you open an IngDirect account or a TD Ameritrade account. as i have been telling everyone. if you just save $2 a day every single day, then you will have over $600 a month into your account plus interest. here are the site to go to to get started. if you need any more help please come back and ask. http://www.ingdirect.com http://www.ameritrade.com

Sometimes I feel like we will never be able to retire. My husband and I were both self employed for many years. So we didn't have a 401K from any place of work. We did open Roth IRA's but haven't put a whole lot into them. My husband is now at a job working for someone else and in another couple of months he will be eligible to start a 401K there. We've had alot of expenses lately. My goal is to get back on track. We were doing really well for awhile and then my husband lost his job. He had a few jobs since, but now seems to be in one that will last. We need to pay off some credit card debt and some other bills.

i hear ya. life throws stuff at ya all the time. i was a single mother for a very long time, so i know how it is to have to "struggle". and i am telling you that you need to start putting just a few bucks into that ROTH again. you don't need to put in hundreds of dollars a month. you can put in $60 a month which is only $2 a day.

As you know my husband is a Disabled Veteran...he draws disability...when he is no longer here...I will be able to draw a part of that for the rest of my life...or until I remarry (that will never happen...LOL)....I will also be able to draw a retirement check from his years spent in the aviation field... My husband has worked very hard to ensure that I will be taken care of when he can no longer do that for me...through his VA benefits our 5 year old's college is already paid for so I do not have to be concerned with that either... I am a very lucky woman to have such a good man...yes, I realize it and I thank God for him everyday....

that is great, are you putting any of that money into a IRA, or a high interest savings account? you really need to do that
