the president of Zimbabwe. What can I say? He is a dictator. the zimbabwe dollar is now worth les than 0.01 us cent.! he has driven away all the white farmers and have taken their land. No outsiders want to do something about the desperate situation there. being one of the richest countries mineral wise how is it going to end? whats your opinion?

robert mugabe is older then people think... so this implies that he is going to die soon... this might cause a intervention in the voting system or not... the people of the country will come to their senses and start a civil up rising... what ever the case may be the country is still a very far way from being reset to a normal economic level, as people are not willing at all to invest in such a diminished country...

i am just worried all this infects us. as you know things are getting worse by the minute. what amazes me is that no outside countries are doing anything. our own prez is having tea and cake with bob. did you read about the french revolution. ... i hope the people have the strength left to defend their human rights.

at the moment there are talks about what other countries are going to do about the situation... but i think it is doubtful that anyone is going to do anything due to the fact that they wont get to much out of the deal and it doesnt effect them in anyway at the moment... if you look at the problems in the middle east, governments where quite fast to act on the situations because it affected them at home... and they had something to gain out of the deal, namely oil... i believe that if he does die in the years to come it will give the governments a chance to act and help resolve the problem and give the people a chance to act aswell

It has already started! The land reform started in Natal. But I saw the other day someone said they a dragging their feet! It is coming for sure, and now the people from Zim are streaming into SA. As far as I know refugees are always in a refugee camp, they are not allowed to just storm into a country and blend in. There is hardly jobs for South Africans, so end result crime is going to go up even more!!!!

He is an evil and selfish man and what he did to the white farmers didn't help anyone. He's alright though as he will not suffer in any way. This is a problem with so many world leaders as long as they are fine they have no interest in the rest of the people and how they are affected.

i feel very sorry for the people. the one thing i cant understand is that no one that has the means to help, seems to turn a blind eye. all the refugees go to south africa, but our government is starting to do the same. i am so scared the past few months.

I figured you wouldn't get a lot of responses to this as its political. If I post a political or spiritual discussion I get little or no responses. Also, not everyone on mylot may know a lot about the Republic of Zimbabwe. I myself, although I've visited the continent of Africa - Senegal and Cape Verde, had to look up your particular country to learn more about it.
I read that he revised the constitution and appointed himself president in 1987 - and that he and his party "mysteriously" have never lost an election since 1980. Wow.
The economy just continues to go downhill due to mismanagement and corruption. Horrifying that he can just take away land like that.
I was more horrified by life expectancy. I would be on my way out of the world by now! This has been blamed on the ailing health service and AIDS and apparantly its yet another thing Mugabe cares nothing about it.
That this country violates the rights to quality healthcare, food, shelter, freedom of movement and of residence, and freedom of assembly and protection of the law is just reprensible.
I can't say how its going to end. I know that many of the countries on your great continent have had uprising, multiple revolutions, but that's scary too, with a lot of bloodshed involved.
Again, my thoughts and wishes are with you. Good luck and have a fotuitous day. (are you ever nervous about postings such as this and what may happen?)

the thing that bothers me most is that my home country borders zim and refugees are flooding here. the poor people. i am not worried about posting this. its a shame so little people know whats going on. there are even zim refugees in my town. the conditions in zim is despicable.
