Siquijor is an island in the southern part of the Philippines located just southwest of the Cebu island. It's capital town is also called Siquijor. It is the third smallest island in the country in terms of land area and population.
It was labeled by the Spaniard during their colonization of the Philippines as "Isla del Fuego" in English, the island of fire for they thought that it was filled with magic and sorcery. But that was just a fast labeling of the island. Today, many tourists are attracted by it's white sand beaches, even making tourists buy some lot in the island as vacation sites.
So for those who thought that the island is something to be afraid of, it is not true. Those rumors were false.
