Virgin Net Is Nothing More Than Problematic - I Feel Cheated

I have upgraded my broadband to 8 gb,i was convinced by the advertising campain on tv,well i have had my upgrade for 6 months,and still i can only recieve at 2.4 speed,virgin net is advertising,saying no matter were you are you will get 8 gb of speed,i feel i have been misleaded and cheated,i have contacted virgin media,and they blame bt,do you think i would get my 6 months payment returned if i take it further?
