Is it more important to be a bit bigger and healthy or skin and unhealthy? Since having my daughter i have gained a lot weight. I thinking of taking those diet pills that will help me take it off. But my middle child my son is over weight too. and I thought well i don't want that for him so i think it would be best to do it the right way. Now he and I are eating healthier and working out. What is more important to you, skinny or healthy?

well, of course i prefer being healthy.. everybody wants to be healthy, definitely. and to be healthy, we have to eat a balanced diet, fruits and veggies would be much better, avoid drinking too much sodas... and we have to exercise our body daily...

Healthy! I know of many UNHEALTHY skinny people. I'd rather be a few pounds overweight and healthy. Diet pills are awful for you, I'm glad you and your son are trying to do it the right way. Good luck!

I am more concerned about being healthy being skinny looks so unhealthy and unattractive to me. I was given curves and even with a little extra weight I am happy with me. As long as my health is good and my doctor agrees I will never be that so called perfect weight for my height and body mass. I really do know where they get there averages.

i have no idea why they want to put everyone in this box of what is right for one is right for everybody. the first thing for me is being healthy and feeling good. and that is what i want for my son. he has a bit more work to do then i do, but i promised him that we will do it together and have fun too

if you are skinny and healthy, then i guess it's ok. by this i mean, not being skinny on purpose, but naturally :) ..if you are overweight then that's not a good sign, need to do something about it to maintain an ideal weight. glad that you and your son and working out and eating a balance diet. hope your effort will pay off! :)

I just want to be healthy and being overweight OR underweight are both not good for your health. Unfortunately, I have poor eating habits and I weigh a lot more then I would like to weigh. I'm afraid that i'm going to pass my horrible eating habits onto my son so I need to do something about it! Good luck with your diet. It's easier to change the eating habits of a child then an adult so it's great that you are including your son in the diet.

I too have put on alot of weight after giving birth to my daughter, its been a struggle for me to lose it since then.
However its more important to me to be a bit bigger and healthy than to be skinny and unhealthy because I have a daughter that I need to be around for her 1st day of school, her graduation, her prom , the day of her wedding....so I would definitely choose to be a bit bigger BUT healthy.
Im glad that you and your son are trying to lose wieght together its always better when you have someone else to support you in that goal. Best of luck to you and him!

I would rather be a bit "overweight" by society's standards of beauty, while behing healthy and happy with my appearance, than to go out of my way to lose weight, look like "they want me to look" and be unhealthy in the long run. It's more important for me to be healthy than skinny.

I would rather be healthy and smaller too, at least 40 pounds lighter (I am overweight according to my doctor).
It's great what your doing for you and your son, makes it so much more easier when you have someone to do it with. I have already lost 10 pounds by cutting out a lot of fat, eating smaller portions and drinking water (i find that extra hard to do drinking water) and have also bought the alli pill. I have not been on it long enough to see the results yet but i do find myself going regularly to the bathroom. It also forces me to stay within the calorie and fat intake everyday.
It's hard but I've got to keep on going. I need to work out more too as I know that would help as well.

i was not a big water drinker either, but i have taken to it very nicely here lately. i am drinking over 8 glasses a day. i also drink seltzer too because i am a big fan of pepsi and the seltzer gives me the bubbles i need with out all the crap that sodas gives me. i have not weight myself so i don't know if i have lost any pounds since is started eating better. . i am happy for you and i want you to keep up the good work

When it comes to kids, we always want them to be healthy. Actually it's not a problem at all if our kid is skinny for as long as he/she eats well, maybe his/her bone structure is not the same as the other kids.
Skinny doesn't mean unhealthy...
