I hope this is just a horrible rumor.

Another summer. Another CBS actor forgets to set his/her alarm.
Multiple sources confirm that Mandy Patinkin is being written out of the season premiere of Criminal Minds after he failed to report to work.
Reps for the show declined comment, but it's safe to assume that the actor/chanteuse is embroiled in some kind of nasty contract stand-off with the network. (The work stoppage was first reported by the sleuths over at E! Online.)
Coincidentally, Minds' just put out a casting call for a character that fits Patinkin's description. What odd timing, eh?When are these CBS stars going to learn? I mean, Les Moonves fired Valerie Harper from a show called Valerie!Much more to come on this fast-moving story. In the meantime, would you still watch a Patinkin-less Minds? Yes,***m*s***s**, we know you would, but what about the rest of ya? Sound off!Source: TVGuide.com

Dang! I like Mandy in the role. I haven't read any of the articles or sources, so I don't know hte reason behind his leaving Criminal Minds.
However, on the subject of salaries of actors, I don't know why actors have to make so much money. Granted, acting isn't a cake-walk in general, but acting is a very easy career compared to working in a furniture factory (like my husband) or standing on your feet for 8+ hours cashiering at a grocery store, etc. Actors, atheletes, and CEOs of corporations make way too much money. There's absolutely no reason whatsoever for anyone to make millions per job/movie/game/etc.
I better get off of my soapbox. I think Hollywood and professional sports have a disease that needs to be treated. I mean a ligitimate mental disease. *sighs*

I have to agree. I work very hard as a nurse in a long-term care facility and feel like I make peanuts. What is so demanding about making a movie? Acting is a skill, just like nursing or making furniture or throwing a touchdown. They give these people too much money and then wonder why they get in so much trouble.

I would .I love criminal minds but it wouldn't be the same without Mandy . I don't know what is up with these stars. They get more money than any of us will see in a lifetime and that's not enough for them.I am really disappointed with him

I liked him in Princess Bride, but his ego preceeds him, and casts a bigger shadow than his abilities.Unfortunately.

I would HATE to see him go...he's the "main" guy I think of the show. It would be weird not to have him there anymore. I too hope its just a nasty rumor and everything is normal on the next season of Criminal Minds.
As for would I watch it if he was gone? I'd probably watch it and see if still held my interest...most likely it would.

I wish everyone would quit saying he is leaving over money, we don't know that. I am heart broken that he is leaving, his charater had one of the biggest spaces on the show. It pretty much revolved around Guideon. I don't agree with them trying to replace him. If he is going to be off the show, transfer him, kill him, have him premanatley disabled. Don't replace him. Nobody can. It's not just the character, it's the presence behind it. I will never accept another Guideon, but I will still watch the show. I love the others to much to not know what happens to them. Especially with this plot with Prentiss. Hopefully, it is just a stall. Maybe they (company and actor) will realized their mistakes and be able to work things out. It's a great show and I would love to see it stick around for a while.

I will miss Mandy in the role. He played it so well. I LOVE Criminal Minds and all the cast. I don't know if I could pick a favourite character. I'm sure the *replacement* will do a good job. I loved Geena Davis in Commander in Chief - very professional. Don't know how Michael Keaton would go as I associate him with movies rather than TV.

What I don't like is the greed of the actors. They make so much more money than they even know what to do with while so many people around the world do without. They should be thankful they have a steady job and steady income. They should stop competing with their castmates for topgun and highest salary. It just makes me so angry because I would take their job in a heartbeat and not complain about the money... ever!
Yes, I would watch a Patinkin-less Minds. He is not one of my favourite characters so I could take him or leave him.
All you famous people out there who think you deserve the world, grow up!

I hardly ever watch Criminal Minds. My husband does not like it and changes th channel, but the problem is who is going to take over? And how is CBS going to find an actor who looks like him? About the lateness. You just gave us two incidents. From the way you wrote, it looked like every year or month hundreds of actors showed up late, instead of two. Now you say it has to do with a contract dispute. There was a contract dispute with Jorja Fox on CSI. Now either CBS is not taking into account the cost of living index, or these two actors are being greedy.
Oh I would watch Criminal Minds if I can, depending on the replacement. But if the replacement is not who I think it is, I won't.

I started watching Criminal Minds because Mandy Patinkin starred in it. By now you probably know how he was written off the show. When I heard the news about him going off the show, I began to wonder if he is difficult to work with. He left Chicago Hope after 2 (?) seasons. I'll probably continue to watch CM, because it is well written. It'll definitely be different without Mandy.

It's not a rumor : Mandy Patinkin leaves the show. They think that Geena Davis or Michael Keaton could replace him.

Unfortunately, it is true. That is too bad because Mandy Patinkin is the only reason I watch the show.
Supposedly, the creepiness of the show got to him.
