family history

Have you ever wondered about the stories coming from generations back in your history? I think it would be interesting to know some of the highlights from hundreds of years ago.

book cover - This book was sent to me from the author, my aunt. It is about my mother's family. Mom had 13 brothers and sisters.
Welcome to myLot, Jan. I am interested in my family history. One of my aunts just sent me a book about my mothers family. I enjoyed reading her memories about their parents and grandparents. I'm sorry the picture of the book is so blurred. I have shakey hands. My mother is the tall one in the middle on the back row.

Thank you Susieq. That book looks like one that I saw in a Christian book store recently. Is this possible? My father's family also has a book about one of the relatives and their children being at sea in a dinghy after their ship went down. I believe they were missionaries in Africa. I have to read it again.

I've tried to do some of that family tree stuff online, but you have to pay before you find out anything interesting.:P I think that kind of stuff is really neat. I would love to have the time to really focus on doing a tree one day. I know I have had relatives send away for those ancestory books, but I can't remember much of what they said.
