yes you can quit but you have to really want it. I know tons of people who have quit smoking. They just stopped and never started again. My uncle quit 15 years ago. I quit everytime I was pregnant but then went back to it. And every now and then I will quit for about two weeks. But I'm never fully able to just leave them alone. I always start again. and there doesn't even have to be a reason. There's patches and gums and I think even pills but the people that I know that have quit did it cold turkey. Just decided one day that they didn't want to smoke and more and stopped. Oh and my cousin tried something to help her stop and she said she started having heart palpitations, I don't know what it was but if you truly waht to quit talk to your dr before you try any methods.

I smoked for 20 years, and quitting was the hardest thing I ever did. I'd stop for a week then go back to it, it was stupid. I tried those lozenges, they worked for a while, but I think the best method is cold turkey. You just have to make up your mind that you don't want to do this anymore. There is a really great website that gives you some great information and motivation, I use it alot, I hope you check it out. www.whyquit.com

Best way to stop or quit smoking is when you stop thinking only about the things you enjoy when you smoke. Instead think about the people who are affected when you are smoking. Often we don't understand or give importance when a friend or somebody in the family advises us to quit, they don't really mean to just let you stop smoking but for you to care about them as well. So, if you love your family as much as you love yourself, then quitting should be easy.
