Update to friends surgery

A couple days ago I posted about a friend of mine and her troubles with gastric bypass surgery. Well her troubles havent ended. She had her third surgery thursday to remove a stitch that would desolve and caused an infection in her stomach. The surgeon made a 5 inch incision and decided instead of closing the incision he would leave it open so it could heal from the inside out. He took a bandage and soaked it in an antibiotic and stuffed it in the cut. He covered it with 2 more bandages and sent her home. She has a trash bad full of bandages soaked in blood from the time she got home till the next (friday) morning. She called the doctor to let him know how much she was bleeding and was told "thats normal, dont worry". She had a nurse come out friday to check up on her and see how things were. The nurse picked up 1 corner of the bandage to have a peek and my friend stated gushing blood. She was rushed to the nearest hospital by ambulance shortly after. The nurse told the ambulance driver the hospital to bring her to and was told "she wont make it that far". I still cannot get over all she has been through for a surgery that has been done many times. What would you all do if you were or knew someone in this situation?
