Hey yl,
I believe it's marketing that makes a movie box office money just look at the blair witch project that movie sucked the bag but the commercials for it made everybody & his brother go out & pay seven bucks for a ticket and leave the theatre pissed LOL

yl,
Did you try to correct my grammer? That's kinda rude seeing as this discussion hasn't even gotten one page of responses (you should be thanking me for even responing & giving you +'s) & plenty of ppl here barely know the english language-I know it seems like I'm reaming you out but it bugged me all day.

It is the story. With a good story , you attract a good producer. Who can hire a good director. Who can go after the cast he/she wants. And real actors who also are big names will be attracted to a good story. And with a good cast, you can attract many people to see a film. Then the film can become a blockbuster. And with a blockbuster,The writer will be re-hired and there will be other good stories to film. Everybody wins.

Yes they are made without a good script. They are made to make a lot of money, not to be a good movie.

i think it's the plot.i dont like the movies with no meaning at all,and the movies i dont know what it is talking about.sometimes those movies which won oscars are not suitable for me,but they are big sucesses.so i guess maybe different people has different opinions about this.success itself,is different.

I think a combination of characters & plotline are the most important aspects of a successful movie. Take into consideration the indie film, Little Miss Sunshine. It didn't have a high budget, and the cast wasn't famous or attractive. The overall plot was fairly simple, but each character had their own substory that added to the overall storyline. Eventually, each character conquered their own individual conflicts, ending with a pleasant and connecting resolution in the end. Not to mention, the music in that movie was wonderful. It just gave an overall feeling.

hi,
i agree with you with all my heart n soul.yeah storyline must be perfect as well as the script.i am an Indian and of course a Kolkatan.we have our film industries both in our city and in India, actually in Mumbai.Mumbai film industry, which is better known as bollywood have hit numbers with a great percentage of emotion and drama, with proper mixing of songs and background music in the films.in our country any hit number must maintain the things namely emotion, drama, music.
