I am just wondering if it is possible to make a post here on mylot and get a long answer. I've looked around here on mylot with the new people with one word like (sports) I've seen people respond to them.. Asking what about Sports? Are they just doing that to make a point so it's added to their numbers or what are they trying to do? I some times don't get some of the things people ask here.. Am I the only person that feels that way or is there more of you that feel this way? I mean we can't make a conversation off one word or at least I know I can't. I do tend to try and be creative though when I reply to post I do go into detail sometimes, but not into deep..

I am really getting tired of all these one word discussions and responses, There is just no effort put into this at all and it ruins it for everyone else that makes an effort..I have reported a couple of one worders..I dont care anymore its getting out of hand and people are getting away with it...If they read the guidelines when joining it tells you no one worders and to post quality discussions...Obviously they do not read it and care either because its constantly happening.

I agree it is getting out of hand and we need to do something about it cause if we don't than who will right? This is the first post I've made in a few days all and only because I know people are going to give me the time of a day to answer honestly how they feel about this not just because i wanted a single answer.. But I think when I start seeing such things I might have to do something about it to make it stop.. Thank you for your reply!

I usually don't bother with those discussions. If they ask a specific question about sports then I will answer. They are probably hoping to add to their post totals and hoping to make a bunch of money by putting out bogus posts or answers. It's irritating, but I just pass them by. Sometimes my posts are longer than I had planned and I wonder if people will actually bother to read them because they'tr to long. lol

I know I do take alot of time reading threw the posts to see what people have to say if I want to add something to what someone has to say I do. Nothing wrong with that. I think instead of people making the post they should just answer to others many people do that here. Maybe and hopefully some of the one word posters will read this and understand what some of us are trying to say and get the message across on what mylot is really all about.

I do experienced those types of respondents here, I guess I got used of them already..
There are lots of members here, that some joined this site with the thought of getting rick quick. Which we all do know that it is "NOT," so my best guess is, they are ignorant. Another thought I have in mind is, maybe they are just there to post, tick and ruin the discussion on hand...

Yeah I am thinking thats what some of these people are think come here and post a single word and for a point and wonder why they don't make anything from it.. It just annoys me to see such things on the board.

One word discussions give me nothing to write about. One word responses do me no good also. Both of these situations tell me that the poster did not read the rules and guidelines. They may not be aware that they will not get paid for these type of postings and in the long run, they are wasting their time. It is rather sad to watch this go on.
As for getting a long answer, I have been rather fortunate in that respect. I have tried to post discussions of quality. The responses I have received vary. Ocassionally, I get some really long answers that are quite informative and entertaining. (Is this long enough yet?) LOL

Ha Ha! Thats the same as me I try to make a post where people can voice their oppions and be able to make some kind of money from it. a simple question with a one line answer I try not to do that because it don't make the person who is answering anything to me I'd rather not waste people time here we are here to make new friends, make money and talk about every day things. But than again that's my oppion too!

Ofcourse it is possible. I know that most of my posts and reponses are consisting a few sentences, and most people that replay to my posts answer nice responses.
I know where your question is coming from, i did see a few people posting posts that contains three word sentences, like "what's your name". Lol. I do not know what they think that they are doing, but i can tell you that i won't respond to those kind of posts.
About other's that responds to a post with one sentences, do you know that here it is considered as an abuse, and should be reported to mylot..
Well that's that for now. Hope you'll tackle into good long and interesting discussions in the nearest future. :)

Yeah that question would be like, ok skip over and to the next post. It's kinda sad though to see these people waste their time on asking such questions, Even I wouldn't ask a question to get a single answer.. I think the more we all look out for each other the better the forum we will have. Cause it's not ok to post to get a single point.

One word discussions don't tell me much..I find alot of this and it is quite annoying..It is hard to read minds...so I just skip over them..hopefully no one will respond and maybe they will stop doing it..we can only hope..sometimes I feel bad if mine is only a sentence or two..but if it is a specific question than that is okay...I do agree with you here..

I totally agree I see them and it makes me wonder what are they trying to asking? Is it something they really want to talk about or what. I just don't understand. I do hope we get less and less of it.. I also see things like fill in the rest, that annoys me as well.

One of my pet peeve when it comes to mylot is the proliferation of discussions that are bordering on silly, ranging from one word topics like your example to questions that are answerable with a yes or no. Also there are those that seem to have been borrowed from a classroom textbook to copy and paste of full-lenght articles without a discussion question. All of this lead to a long list of discussions that remain unanswered and just simply clutter the site.
I know a lot of people are here to make money, especially those that are coming outside of the US. However, I feel that they should also take the effort to write quality discussions that will make this site worthwhile. Sometimes I feel like I spend more time looking for a quality discussion than posting answers. I hate to sound mean, but maybe we can start a campaign against such poorly thought-out questions. Just an idea! LOL!

No it don't sound mean at all and your right it does clutter up mylot it makes the pages crawl along so that it takes for ever for them to load, mainly when you are interested in wanting to read the conversation or reply to it. just a bit ago i tried to reply to one and it took a good 4 mins to load the next page. kinda sad if you ask me.

I, myself, like to know what the question or post is really about. I like something that I can sink my teeth into..that is if I still had my teeth. But anyway, I like to learn things about other cultures and countries. If there is something specific about the post put it on the heading of the discussion. I also like to give aevice to people who want it and who might benefit from my long life experience or life lessons as I call them. Thank you for your post. It may help some of the new ones out as far as posting.

Your very welcome and I do hope that some of the newer people do read such posts cause i know it will help them and responses and making money here. I think a little reading and understanding can take a person a long ways. I too want to learn about other things and cultures or i don't think i would be here. I say what I know and it's nice to see other people commenting on such things on what they know. Thanks for the reply!

Agreed- it is against mylot guidelines to post one word or one liners- What really irritates me is when you see a member posting numerous posts in a few moments time and they are asking like questions- also they don't tell you how they feel- just want you to answer what you think- They are certainly here for the money- and shame on them- In order to post quality responses I have to find quality discussions!

It actually seems to have gotten better in the past few days i have noticed. Some of the posts are well worth answering at least they are for me. I try to make it long in my response but not babble as much.. I've noticed that as well posting posting posting, I have to admit I have done that also, but it's not like I don't get anyone to respond to me, If it is interesting I'll post it and it normally does turn into a great conversation I think though posting like 10 posts in a roll is really over doing it.. Thanks for your reply!

I do get those sometimes. One word answers and one liners. But it doesn't bother me. As long as I get their point and understand what they're trying to communicate. Sometimes, I prefer short and meaningful answers than those which are long but doesn't contain any information. Long but full of blah blahs. They're easier to read to. When I'm not in the mood..., I tend to skip long comments (like this answer of mine) Hehe, cheers! Happy Posting :)

I'm mainly talking about some people just posting a one word post with no questions to ask.. It's hard to understand them. As i have stated in earlier posts what is this person trying to ask? Some don't understand or get it so they ask the person the question and of course they never come back to the post they made to make a reply or answer so it makes it hard for us to reply to such posts. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. And thank you for the reply!

Dear wisconsin26
I really avoid that one word kind of discussions -- it comes under violation as specified under mylot rules .. This does not makes any kind of sense .. The most certain reason why some members are doing this is that they want increase in their post number .. if any other member report this issue that member can be banned from mylot .. but I guess they really don't know anything about this rule and so they violate. I don't wish to be out of mylot and so I don't start just one or two liners .. I want to earn more as well so I write here as much as I can.

Thank you for your reply.. I really didn't think a person is able to start such posts. The main thing is i don't really like to complain about people and their posting but as I've stated you really can't reply to something that only has one word. It is very sad to see these people trying to cheat mylot when some of us are here to make money and trying to work hard to get our points.

I was doing a long answers a time ago because I was getting like 4 cents per post but then they stated to play just 1 cent so now I will do short ones.

They still do the 4 cents per post but you need to be able to come up with 7 lines worth the talk about. I don't think mylot tends to do this to people but tends to make people understand this is to make money not to cheat or what ever they might be doing or thinking. I think if we all work as a team here and help each other with people just taking up a post for single words we will all make better money here and do good for everyone. All we need is a little team work and things will get back to normal. Also you gotta remember mylot is huge. I think if they went threw and deleted the people that aren't active you will than more than likely know theirs only a selective few people that are here to actually make some money. But don't stop your long posts because than you won't really be making much. Happy posting! and Thank you for your reply!

I am doing short post because I want to reach the 500 points because I want to be able to copy so I would check it on a test processor and work online on my post.

It is definitely possible and you will encounter lots of people who can give you long answers but that would depend on your question. However, there are just really people who give you only one word even if your question deserves a long answer. I think they're responding for points. Sometimes I give a short reply to people who responded to my discussion just to thank them so they will know that I appreciate their responses. But I don't give short responses to discussions that I want to respond to. A sentence can be acceptable but that's really difficult to explain your point. I hope you get long responses. Have a nice day!

I have gotten many responses on this subject and alot of great answers too. I don't mind short answers to a post I'm really ok with that it's just when someone wants to make a post with one word i kinda have a problem with that. It really doesn't ask or say anything it's only a word of question. Thanks for the reply!

yes, many of us are here for reasons other than to make that little point. It really is a great place but as you said many of the discussions are pointless and without any substance. You need to read through the discussions and post to those that you have an interest in and add friends that you can see are here for the same reasons as you. there are many good people in here.

i agree there are alot of good people here alot of people make great posts as well and I do enjoy reading them as long as they have something to read about. I did go to one post that had one word and people were asking the person questions instead of answer the post.. Of course I didn't reply to it. I have alot of friends that I've add or they have added me and i do go threw and read their post and do reply to them.

Yes it is very possible to get a long answer hear of mylot. I have a number of times. I cant not respond well to one word discussions either i dont even bother to tell you the truth i do find they are only in it for the numbers then like you say and not in it for the information or the conversation. I find if u have a discussion easy for other to relate to and have enough information in them u can get good responses back. You are gonna find alot that only respond to yours with one word or one line but that will happen alot but so can good quality discussions and responses more so then the short ones u will get long ones as well. Just make a well formed discussion and the rest is easy have a great time with mylot my friend you will find it just a big a part of your life as i do.

oh yes i can understand that, sometimes people don't want to talk so they use a line or two. Nothing wrong with that. I was and am talking about people who start posts with one word.. That is so hard to follow but a question would be nice than that way you can actually have some sort of conversation it helps or at least I think it does.

Yeah you are very much true.I too have noticed such things when looking for good discussions.I actualyy do not like to reply to them because they would not even comment on whatever reply comes to them. They would be keen on getting a 1000 number next to their names. And if you look at their star level it would be 4 or 6.I usually respond to people having around 9 or 10 star value. And also newbies.[As I am a newbie too!!!!!].

I noticed that and welcome to mylot and thank you for the reply.. I think even if they were to get 1000 posts i don't think they would really be making anything or am i wrong. I mean they post one word posts. I am not very sure about it. I'm always looking for a good discussion but they don't seem to come so easy at least not for me...
