Do you like the new Karaoke shows

I watched the Don't Forget the Lyrics show. First of all, I can't stand the host, Wayne Brady. He is obnoxious and annoying. The girl who was singing on it had the most horrendous voice, which I realize is part of the show and all and it's just karaoke, but I couldn't stand listening to her over and over.. I wanted them to find a new contestant and get her off. The songs were so easy and they only had to know like 4 words, so to me it was too easy, but I guess I have to see what happens when she gets higher on the song chain. Yes, I think the show is annoying, but I will probably watch it _

I dont like them at all. I think the simple novelty of karaoke is not enough to make into a television show. Its nice to actually do.. but I believe the humor of viewing others make fools of themselves.. will ware off rather soon.

We don't get FOX so won't be able to watch Don't Forget the Lyric, but probbly would if we could. We have been watching the Singing Bee and been enjoying it, though a half hour doesn't seem long enough for it. Even though I really like the show, I don't think it'll stay around. It just doesn't have the holding power.

I have watched both shows. I think "Don't Forget The Lyrics" is more of a karaoke show. It is also mimicking other game shows with the tower of money levels and the three "life lines". It is long and drawn out. "Singing Bee" has a totally different format. The song bits are shorter, and the show goes through contestants a lot quicker. I think I prefer it to "Don't Forget The Lyrics". The host is cuter too. :)

hmmm...karaoke per se is something i grew up with. it taught me how to sing and read fast at the same time...do i think if there is a good karaoke or bad karaoke thing? maybe...sometimes, people stupidly uses it as a pathetic excuse to somewhate make the screen a bit interesting even if its not...now for your question...i'd watch both...the verdict comes after. you cannot judge something youare ignorant about, now, can you?

I guess I'll watch them if there is nothing else on television. It makes me laugh to see networks with similar shows competing for viewers. If you want more viewers, think of original and better shows (like HBO).

I haven't ever seen, nor heard of either of these shows but I love karaoke. I will have to check out these shows and see if I like them before I decide whether or not I want to watch them, but they might be fun to watch.
