Do you believe that we have a Soul? You know, it's not anything you can prove. It isn't a thing you can see and say: "Hey, it's there!". Doctors, when they are operating someone, or doing surgeries, they don't find any Soul.
If you do believe in Soul, what size do you think our Soul is? Do you think all souls have the same size? How do you think that the Soul is?
If you do not believe in Souls, then why not?
Remember: we are here to debate philosophycally, so we all should try to understand the points that everyone are trying to pass.
Thanks for your response.

I believe our soul is the breath of God living in us. The creation story says God breathed into the man and the man became a living being. I believe that was God giving the man a soul. Therefore it would not have a specific size.

i believe that the soul cannot be seen...that is why doctors dont see it when they operate. i believe in the afterlife so i guess i believe in the existence of souls. an old aquaintance once said that her soul hovered over her body. she was able to witness this and had the ability to go to her body. she said that it took a long time and she was able to do it.

I also believe in the afterlife, but maybe Souls have nothing to do with afterlife. If Souls can't be seen, how do you know they are there? Also, how can YOU make sure you have a Soul? Maybe only some people have Souls, other not. Anything could be possible.
Can you prove me that you have a Soul?

I think I have a philosophycal prove of souls lol.
First of all, souls are not physical, but metaphysical. That means, thet they are not ruled by physical rules of existance, they don't have shape, color, mass, time, space etc. They are not anywhere becaus if they where in some place, they would be physical, and thus, they wouldn't be souls.
Following that, we should ask ourselves what are souls and what are they for. Otherwise said, we should ask what in our life does not follow physical rules, and all that we can answer to this question, that's the definition of souls.
For me, the answer is free will, art and creativity. All that does not follow rules. If you can invent something, if you can do real art, there is no rule for that therefore this is a metaphysical act, and only a metaphysical being can do it (the soul of course).
So for me, the soul is the part of the "self" that has capacity of decision, creativity and invention. And sure we have free will and art, so we have souls.

Yes I believe we all have a soul because I see everything in our material world within an energy-based framework. We cannot see gravity...but there is evidence of it everywhere. We cannot 'see' how stars and planets do not collide into each other within the vastness of space because there is what I believe is Divine Order.
Looking outward to all aspects of life there are creations...and within the creations I see a Creator. So consequently I believe that there is a Source...and we are sparks that live within the Onescong of life. Spiritual beings sent forth to experience ourselves and each other within the human experience.
Physics and metaphysics view things from the perspective of immutable laws that cannot be broken. There is a common understanding within both modalities that energy cannot be destoryed...so the essence that we are in physical form is the soul that continues into a life eternal beyond this dimension. In my view we are all on a soul path of discovery...and that could include reincarnation...but that my friend is a whole other topic.

I believe the soul is a perfect image of us but we carry it on the inside, as we die our soul is released and returns to God. I believe we are all angels from heaven on this earth for a short time, before our souls return to heaven for eternity. It was our choice to leave heaven and come to earth to experience life, when our time is over we return and become one with the Father again.
