I do not think that there is an age limit to learning-I feel that you can learn till your last breadth-I read a book which states that ther is an well-known engraving of the sixteenth century which represents an old man sitting in a child's wheelchair, with the inscription over it Ancora Imparo(I still learn). This phrase was constantly on the lips of Michelangelo as in old age he hewed at the marbles and refused to rest.My friends, what do you think-especially when some people knowing little feel they know-all and there is no need for learning further-once they have crossed a cretain level of education?

I believe that we will never stop learning no matter how old we are. We can learn from young people and also from older people. I find it very sad when I come across some recently graduated students who feel that there is nothing else they can learn after just working for about 3 to 6 months. Even after 20 over years of working, I find that I learn new things in my job. But it is not only in my job that I am learning, I also learn about other areas as well. The only time we stop learning is when we refuse to learn.

I certainly dont think there is a limit on the age of learning. As a university teacher, my oldest student was 89 and she both loved her studies and did very well in them
blessed be

There is no age limit on learning. I have encountered lots of peoplejwho thing just as you have noted: why learn anything else, I know all I need to know. I hate being judgmental, but that attitude irritate me. How does one know that one knows all one will need to know? In gradute school, I encountered person in their 60's studying for an advanced degree. I know a 65-year-old gentleman who just received his 2nd BA. He already had a BA in divinity studies.
Learning should only stop when breathing stops.

I don't think there is an age limit for learning. In my math college class there was this really old lady who looked like she was around 60 or so and she went everyday. I really admired her because she was always asking questions to the professor to learn more and I thought it was really nice to see how much she was learning and enjoying the class.

You are never too old to learn! You meet new people all the time, both older and younger than yourself, and with them new knowledge. When you give up on learning there is nothing left in life really.

not at all. So long as you live ,you keep learning ,and learn you must otherwise you start declining even from the ones you already learnt .
Learning doesn't necessarily have to do with books and stuffs like that , life in general is a lot learning environment; ranging from phylosophy to no-brainer phenomenoms .

There is no age limit for learning, infact it is really good to be upto date in knowledge and keep learning. The more educated and intellectual you are,the more you can face the world bravely and confidently. No matter what the subjects are one should never feel shy that they are old enough and cannot carry on their education.I believe that the education is never enough, you should be upto date in advance education too.It will not only help you groom your personality, but it will also help you broaden your thoughts.

I think you have rather said age limit for studying(that's my first impression but when I read the post it changes, you mean if they have reached a certain level of education, haha)
I think those persons are just hiding behind their inhibitions, they are just pretending they know all even though not, cause it makes them more fulfilling, because they are afraid to let others know that they are lacking learnings, others tend to be like that...
But for people who think that if they ave crossed a certain learning achievement and they aren't open for new learnings, think let just leave them and let them realize by themselves that they are getting or being obsolete, or very far behind, let's just ignore them cause I think if you will tell them, long discussion or debate will be made, and I think it's better if you will just let them understand in time,
Age limit, I think as long as you live even if you really not intend to study really, still you learn, social skills and moral skills, even it is unintentional you still learn,
Even just correcting your grammar, you still learns, if other people will say that there is an age limit, they should think twice or as many as they can count, cause, every minute they learn even not very obvious, thanks..^^

Hi, my first lot friend... I would say there is no age limit for learning. The more you age, the more you should learn more. Me, I am not young anymore, but I see to it that I continue my learning, if not in school, in seminars, in discussions like this and in reading reference and informative materials. Well, maybe, comprehension might be quite slow but to some, aging is learning fast. I would say also, that learning is your wealth that cannot be taken, but can be shared.

No absolutely not. There is no age-limit for learning. Michelangelo sure is an inspiration when it comes to learning and exploring. I think there can never be an age-limit for learning because there is no limit to things that can be learned. And a certain level of education has nothing to do with it. I mean, sure if you're a Phd in a certain field you only know about that field and nothing else, so there's still a lot to learn. And learning is not just about college or things like that. It can be learning a new skill like playing an instrument, learning a new game, a new song, anything. Even if you live to be a 100 or more, and you constantly learn about new things, you still wouldn't have learned all there is to learn, so there's no way we can stop learning, just because we think that we know it all, because it's impossible to know it all.
Also I think that learning new things is to keep you alive and live life to the fullest. Deciding to quit learning new things would be like deciding to quit on life.
I admire old people, who some people might ridicule, if they go back to college when they're 60 or decide to learn how to play the guitar when they're 70, I mean life doesn't stop, why should we? I hope when I'm old, I'll still have the drive to learn myself.

sorry, that pic was meant for another discussion.
Actually this has given me the opportunity to rant more.
I think that old age would be the best time to learn something new. I mean, you would have retired by then, so what better time to learn a new skill since you have that stress-free time on your hands.

There is certainly no age limit for learning, tuhpaul. I am a prime example of that. I have always loved studying and learning. The Bible teaches us to study to make yourself approved unto God. There is no person in this world who knows all there is to know. When I stop learning I will stop living.

There is no end for learning. The more we learn, the more we will find that we know little. The more we learn, the more happier that we will feel. It is never too late to learn. I hold the same view as yours, friend.

It depends on the person really. If you feel that you know it all then you would stop learning. Most of these genius guys feels that they are still lots of things to be discovered. So they don't stop learning until their last breath. It would be much wiser to keep in mind that you know nothing. People who has this mentality has the willingness to learn.
