I have a barker that is driving everyone mad. I was told about a sonic bark device and had not heard anything about them. Does anyone have one and do the work without hurting the dog? I don't really want to get a shock collar and thought this my be a little better then the shock.

All bark control systems are effective by using means of some sort of discomfort. These devices have several flaws to them jmcafam. This product is also set off by other barking dogs which will cause additional unnecessary discomfort to your dog's ears only. Because the other dogs are out of the devices range. In addition. Never use these devices indoors or in close proximately to people, especially kids. It can cause hearing damage. Despite what the manufactures claim. Your best bet is to use a shock collar. It doesn't cause them any long term discomfort. It's not the sort of shock we as humans associate it with. You can test it on your hand to get an idea what it's like. What you feel is much more than your dog will feel. The purpose of the collar is not to stop all barking but to eliminate excessive barking. The collar only delivers a jolt after the dog has been flexing its neck from continuous barking. Some dogs it's sooner than others. That depends upon the thickness of their coat and skin. Just follow the directions and it's a much better way to deal with this. I've used the collar on many dogs and the main thing to remember is to make sure you can slip one to two fingers between the collar and the dog's neck. Other than this, I would suggest talking to a few vets to get their opinions on what different methods they suggest. ‹(°¿°)›

Thank you so much jumpinjack00. I had not thought about the other dogs around that would be able to activate it. You have giving me such wonderful information on this device. I guess will go and check out the shock collars to see how they are. Once again thank you.
