Why is my Mylot reputation falling?

I would like to think that to every discussion i respond to i give a full and frank response, being honest without comprimise.
However, over the last two weeks or so my Mylot reputation (the number out of 100) has fell from 89 at its highest to 75 as it is now and i dont understand why.
If my mylot reputation is now 75 then why do i still have a 8 star rating and not a 7?
What influences the rise and fall of this rating?
Help!

Well it seems that most of your posts have to do with making money and wanting people to be your referral. I do not know what your responses are, but it would help if you put more posts on other subjects rather than how to make you get richer. Try to increase your interests. What are you interested in? Do you like cooking? Painting? Computers? Just don't concentrate on moneymaking. The opinions of other members are what influence your stars. If too many give you a minus, you will soon be a 7, if many give you a plus, you will go through the 8 and into a nine.

To be honest, i have never used the plus and minus system because im not sure what it does or whether it really has an impact.

You get credit for rating others. You should use plus to rate the discussions and comments that you agree with and negative I use mainly for people who are rude or don't make a comment relevant to the discussion.

I agree with Suspenceful. I think it is good to branch out and respond to other topics and post questions about many things. We are all concerned with making money, but using MyLot strictly as a referral center for you is not necessarily good for the whole of MyLot. Look around, there are a lot of topics here. Don't confine yourself to just one. Good luck with raising your level again. I'm sure you can turn it around.

If it really does seem wrong, maybe you should send an email to MyLot and they can help clarify things for you. I am just trying to guess, I don't have any real answers and I am not trying to judge you either.

I reiterate what has been said before it's because you put links in your discussion which are against Mylot's T&C's, fair enough if you want to do a discussion about a particular site but don't put your personal url in the discussion and develop other interests as discussions. Good luck and I'm sure your rating will rise again.

How exactly does someone get a star or rep? Is it all based on the + and - system or what? I have used that system very little mainly because I really don't understand the meaning of it. Someone in this topic said we get credit for using it? How so? I really do not understand half of the features here at mylot. Usually things aren't difficult to figure out but here seems to be a bit different.

I totally agree with what you have said. There are a few aspects of mylot that i dont think anyone fully knows how they work and what effect, if any, they have on the people who use mylot.
