Personality re body shape

Hi guys! I'm interested to know any views on if people really do love their partner for who they are rather than what they are (i.e. slim, young, busty). I ask because my last couple of relationships have ended with my self esteem severely knocked just because i may have put on a few pounds (6 at the most) and my partner then thinks i'm overweight and therefore unattractive. I must add that even after weight gain, I'm still only a UK size 10/12.

I can truly say my sweetie and I love each other for who we are. We met and fell in love online. We never saw a photo of the other person, never even spoke on the phone, until we met in person. (Let me add that we were completely honest with each other in our online relationship.) We've now been together (physically) nearly 9 years. We've both gained and lost some weight, and all the other physical changes that come with aging 9 years. I'll quit babbling, as I'm not trying to rub salt in your wounds by saying my relationship is so wonderful, while you've had some that have ended poorly. I'm very sorry you've had these relationships with such shallow people. I truly hope you'll find the love of your life.

I have to agree with casinocat on this one. You know it is love when you care more for the person than how the person looks.
