Who has theories on why Mike Hargove resigned as head coach suddently? Does anyone think Ichiro might have been throwing his weight around prior to signing his $100 million deal?

This is the exact type of crap that professional athletics has come to, give players all the money in the world and they still want more. THe whole situtation is a little bit reminiscant of the KObe essentially getting rid of Phil and two years later realizing what a idiot he was and begged phil to come back. Hargrove has been around the game forever. The mariners will realize what a big mistake they've made and beg hargrove to come back.

Good point. One man does not make a team. This is even moreso in MLB than in the NBA.
Ichiro is damn good though.

I enjoy Ichiro for who he is. A good baseball player. I know that bonds is claiming some new steps along the way, but I'm sure Ichiro is going to get his share of fame in the coming years as well. he's just...amazing. The Seattle Mariners have a lot going for them keeping Ichiro, but Ichiro is also smart to stay here. We in washington helplessly admire his awesomeness.

That's the rumor. Where there's smoke there's usually fire.
I think the answer would be obvious if it weren't for the odd-timing of the resignation.
