My cat gets Iam Indoor Formula as her dry food. She has food allergies and a lot of brands would make her sick, even the prescription ones and she's been on Iams for a bit over a year now and it works great and she loves it. However she won't touch any of the Iams wet foods so for her dinner she'll get a small can of Fancy Feast Gourmet Selections (the little teal can), anything with the Salmon, Tuna or Turkey. She loves those and I find that the qulity is so much better than any wet food I've bought before and I've never found a fish bone in them unlike their cheaper regular fancy feast and other brands. She won't eat the chicken or beef varieties. For treats she loves Greenies organic cat treats, she goes nuts for these! And I love that they're good for her. Last week I got a free sample of Iams Naturals new dog dry food and figured hmmm... well now they're her absolute favorite and she gets a few pieces as a treat, lol. These are brands I've found to be of quality that work well for my cat. What do you feed to yours?

My cat loves canned peas and corn. And, sometimes I'll give him a bit of canned peaches or other fruit. Sure, I've heard that cats shouldn't be allowed to eat people food. With that being said, most outdoor cats eat a variety of foods, including fruit which has fallen on the ground. So, why not treat an indoor cat to the same variety. And, besides he's a former wild cat from the outdoors. So, that could explain his fascination with human foods.
He seems to like the food and it has never bothered his digestive system. And, as long as it's not making him sick then why put up a fuss, right? I suppose every cat is different. Mine doesn't like the canned or box treats from the store. And, since they are kind of expensive anyway, that's fine with me. I'd much prefer to give him a left over scrap than some artificially flavored food from the store.
On the other hand my other cat only eats cat food. She wouldn't touch a piece of corn if it were the last food on the planet. Nothing but the best, most exquisite ingredients for my princess. She's high maintenance, could you tell?

lol, the princess sounds like my cat. She wouldn't eat any of the cheap food if her life depended on it. She does love people food but she's picky as to what people food she'll eat and you can't put it on the floor or she'll get grossed out, look at you like you're a pig and won't touch it. Go figure!
I'm so surprised by your cat eating veggies and fruit, I bet that is from being used to eating it outdoors. I think it's good though, it's a lot more natural like you said.
