Hi all
I'm going to Amsterdam by car, and i'm wondering if there are any circumstances i should consider (parking possibilities and so on). If you have tips or recommendations for things to do and see, please post them here.
thanks

Parking anywhere inside the A10 (that's the orbital expressway around Amsterdam ) is very expensive, altough there is a car parking in the city centre. I would recommend renting a bicycle for a day, visiting nearby Haarlem, Marken and Utrecht. In Amsterdam, I would recommend the Rijksmuseum, the Amsterdam Museum, Beigjnhof, the Van Goghsmuseum, ther Ajax museum at the Ajax ground (metro/train Bijlmer),the Flea Market at Waterlooplein, traditional brown cafes, an uitsmijter (that's a sandwich with ton of fillings, best from the pub near the Diamond Museum I forget the name but it has nice murals inside), walking or cycling along the cobbled streets by the canals, and supermarket shopping for the unique cultural experience and filling snack food. Nightclubs: Mazzo is boring, Paradiso is supposed to be the biggest and best, IT has a mixed straight/gay crowd if you like that kind of thing. Best idea is too make contact with the locals or other tourists who can give you more up to date info, or if all else fails the VVV (Tourist office just out of Amsterdam Centraal station). Best of luck.
