Need help!

I am having trouble with my friend's computer. Here's the problem; I turned it on and there is no display on the monitor. "No Diplay or Cable Disconnected" was the error message. Some people said its the RAM, maybe it is not seated correctly... or the Graphics Card. Well, how do you troubleshoot your PC with this problem? ~mar
