from a reporter to a telemarketer

It's never easy to adjust in a new environment plus a new job. This is not part of my to do list or career paths to take but I have learned to love my soon-to-be job. A telemarketer's life is not at all easy. Base on the testimonials of the veterans on the floor, some irate Americans would either hung up on you or curse you. I miss my media life...For my new job is way different from a reporter's life. Well, there are some similarities. For one, a reporter writes news worthy events while the telemarketer should close a deal through persuasive approach. Now, instead of meeting the deadline, I've got to strike the "target sales or the quota".

I know what you mean. I've been a telemarketer for most of my jobs. I guess I got it easy, because telemarketing when I joined a few years back was still pretty much a new concept in the country where I live, so people are really not that rude to you, and most people don't think that telemarketers are complete pests as they do in the U.S, there I guess these would be the most hated people. I got bored of it though, it was good while it lasted, and it did make me good money, and for a person who was just out of high school it was a pretty good and interesting job. Of course, it also helped being a female. People are less likely to be mean or rude to you then. Sure, I got a few hang ups and a few meanies too, but it's a job, you gotta do what you gotta do. Well, good luck, I never had to make a transition from another job, so I'm not sure what that would feel like, as you said you miss your old job. But I hope you have fun at this and are successful too.
