I'm new to the whole web design thing, as you can see at http://namd3r.awardspace.com/ . I know a fair amount of html/xml, style sheets, a little php and mysql. Should I continue with these languages? Or should I learn something new or more powerful? Like I know nothing about PERL or CGI. Could someone tell me about these languages?

for me : (ratings)
1. PHP and mysql - because you can use any browsers for this scripts.
2. ASP - easy to deploy
3. ASP.NET - many features, yet very sophisticated
4. CGI, PERL - classic, i only use this for my SMS+website integration..
5. ACTIONSCRIPT - if you want to be a Game developer...

Well you got almost all ingredients to develop a professional site. Almost every site uses PHP and MySql combination. If you could learn a bit of jvascript then you are ready for complete web site development. Perl and CGI is not at all importent if you know PHP. I am a developer and i am into PHP-MySql. I dint ever have to use Perl or any other languages (expect PHP and Javascript) in my projects.
