If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one to hear it, will it make a sound? If there were no living thing with conscious thought, would life still have a purpose?

The answer to both is yes.Just because there is no one to experience it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And there is life in trees and plants and flowers, as far as I know they don't have conscious thought.

When the tree falls it will still produce the potential of sound but the sound itself occurs with the interaction of conciousness of the hearer. The tree in falling produces sound waves but sound waves are movement of air not sound. Sound requires both conciousness and sound waves, except in the case of tinnitus, where you might want to say no sound waves are required. all the best urban

Well, yes, it will still make a sound. Everything you or anyone does, will make a sound, even if no one else is there to hear it. Let me give you a quote.. "I think therefore I am".. Any human with an IQ above 80 will have conscious thinking.

i have thought about it.maybe there is no sound as i feel sad in my room.who care?no one.but you should beleive that you can make your sound that you care.it's your life ,only belong to you.control it.just like control the tree's sound in your heart.
