I Don't Know Who Was More Nervous... Me Or Her!!!

Last Friday was quite a busy day... I had a few things to deal with but the most important to me, my Granddaughter's drama group's summer production, 'Help, I'm Floating'.
For those of you who don't already know, my youngest granddaughter attends a drama group, called Splash and Kids & Co. They've been putting on two productions a year, one in summer and one near Christmas, the Christmas one often being a pantomime type of production. The two leaders of the group, Winston and Sue, usually get the scripts made up and the kids learn the script and put on the play in the studios of a local theatre.
Not this time! The kids learned about space travel, and planets etc., and made up their own script between them; they made up space-walk dances too, and poems and songs, which were brilliant. However, because I knew all this, I found I had butterflies... yup, nervous for the kids! lol. Welllllll, what are nans for? :)
Anyway, the production turned out to be one of the most enjoyable we've seen thus far. It contained humour, some good dancing and songs and was thoroughly enjoyable. Even Winston was lost for words at the end! I feel it was a really good move, because not only are the kids learning something valuable, but they're also training to write script, and seeing how it turns out in practice. They even decided on and provided the props... truly a great achievement. These kids are aged 4-14 years, and they all played a part in putting on the final production.
I, as everybody else did, applaud them! I was in tears at the end with the amount of applause, cheering and whistling from the audience, which was not capacity, even.
Well done, those kids... they make us all so very proud!

I could feel the pride in your writing pal , The love we can feel for our grandchildren can only ever be fully realized by someone who has their own , I bet you had a constant smile on your face and you wanted to shout form the middle of the room that you were her nan , I remembered when we went to watch Rebecca they let me video it and I think I was scared to breathe all the way through lol , these are the kind of memories that will stay with us forever in our own memories whether they were videoed or not ,

Funny you should mention the video... my son taped the whole thing. lol.
The point is, the audience comprises all parents, grandparents, siblings and teachers, and I think that's why some of them get selected for school events and competitions. Of course, we're all very proud of our offspring and theirs, as showed in the ovation at the end. It was deafening! Of course... my little granddaughter was the best dancer.. te he he. She takes dancing lessons and dances for her school. :)
Proud?? Who me??? he he he... neverrrrrrr! :)
Brightest Blessings my friend. xx

He he he, of course I am, Raydene! Yes, my son video recorded it. I'll have to see if I can get hold of a copy, or ask him to put it on my YouTube account. I have no idea what I'm doing in there... I use it to watch stuff, rather than insert it. lol.
Thank you Raydene... hope you're well. Love, hugs and Brightest Blessings. xxx

Oh, I certainly did that... not only giving credit to my granddaughter but all the other kids who crossed my path afterwards. It was a great achievement for them. I think you're right, they just took it in their stride, but that first little touch of humour that gets the audience chuckling seems to ease them into the task at hand. They were great, and all my granddaughter wanted to do afterwards, was keep hugging me. lol. She must have sensed how I was feeling.
