I hate writing essays. I dont know why, but I always get a mental block before I have to write one. They are due by midnight tonight. I have two of them to write. I know once I sit down and do it, it wont take very long to do. I just have some sort of mental block against it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I think part of it is fear of not doing a good job on it. I am horrible at summarizing, and that is a big part of it. I have a few more classes that have writing involved (like English Composition- ughh) but after that it should be all math and accounting and business classes.

If you have any other work to do (preferably easier work), finish that first. That's what I always do when I'm procrastinating; get rid of the easy stuff first. For me, the key is solving procrastination is a change of environment. Isolate yourself in an environment where you won't have many distractions, and you won't be able to do anything BUT your work. When I go to the library, I'm unable to listen to loud music, call my friends on my phone, go online (since there's always a long line for the computers), snack on something, etc, so in the end the only choice I have left is to sit there and do my work. Exercise also works well in releasing the tension from your brain.
