Okay, my hbby has been home for the last five weeks but is leaving in a few days to go back to Australia for 3 months. I went through this once before and though it stunk, the time passed rather quickly. This time though, I am dreading it more. I need good recommendations of what to do this last week before he leaves and how to stay sane once he is gone.

He's going to school in Australia, about half the world away from home. I have to stay here to work and keep the house and take care of our life here. Visiting could be an option except that it is horribly expensive to get a plane ticket from here to there (about $2000 round trip) and 30 hours each way in airports and planes. By the time I got there, I'd have to turn around almost immediately and come back. It's a short time away in the bigger scope of things, it's just that this time I miss him already :)

If it were me, I would probably make a calendar or one of those paper chain things that kids make at Christmas to count down how many more days it is till he comes back for good. Unfortunately, I think you would kill an awful lot of trees making a paper chain like that, not to mention the fact that it would become Rain's favorite new toy. :)
For this last week, though, I would recommend trying to hide out from the heat, but doing things that you guys enjoy doing together, like watching movies and such.
Does he go back before his b-day?! If so, you should definitely make him a birthday care package, only have him take it on the plane, because you would have probably had to ship it last month for him to get it on his b-day!
