my sister's officemate got fired for improper conduct during a teambuilding activity. she was newly hired and was working as an HR officer. on the night of the teambulding activity at an out-of-town resort, she was invited to have a drink with a couple of guys from another department. the drink went on past midnight... she got back at dawn. the next morning, she woke up late with a splitting headache... missed the breakfast which was noticed by everyone. she's an unwed mother of two. and i guess there was a character attack that spread out in the office after that weekend that was heard by her supervisor (who was not present during the teambulding activity). she received a memo of the incident and next thing my sister knew was that she either resigned or got fired. my sister is not in really good terms with this HR girl but she feels that the company was not playing fair considering that the word "improper" was only used against her and not to the two married guys she had a drink with. we both think this is clearly about double standards and gender inequality. how about you? do you have similar experience too?

as a new employee, she should have checked how she behaves because some companies in the philippines are strict and concervative. but even if there is misbehaviour, i think the girl and te two guys should receive the same treatment. so yes, maybe there is gender inequality here.
