How can roman catholics say that statue in the church a form of idolatry. One of the 10 commandments of God is Thou shall not make and idol of God or something. There are many issues regarding the 10 commandments. Should we take the context literally or in different ways?

Both. literally, God requires His believers to have no other God's before Him. And in another way, a person might say that He had worship no other gods before the Lord. But I would say this, "Anything that replaces God is an idol." Therefore, whenever you are spending much time working and forgetting about the Lord, working becomes your idol because it has replaced God position. God wants you to have the preeminence in your heart. Therefore, in order to have no idols before Him, give Him the first place in all things.
