Wondering how many of you mylotters have tattoos- I turn 32 today and am in FLA on vacation- my friend that I'm staying with has a guy that did mine extra cheap because it was for my birthday. I have personally always been deathly afraid of needles- so this was a huge step for me. I have included a pic here- would love your opinions on how it came out:)

I won't lie- it did hurt alot- but I had a lot of years to prepare for the pain...lol My friend held my hand all the way through it and I chewed on a popsicle stick to help ease some of it.

I really, really want a tattoo! I think about it just about daily and I know my best friend and husband are probably so sick of hearing about it. I have wanted an anklet for about 2 years now, and have yet to get one. I'm really considering getting one before summer is over.
I love your design!

Awww thanks ;) I think i'll take your advice and do it. I should probably start narrowing down which anklet I want since I can't figure out how to design my own. I do know that I want my son's initials (VERY SMALL) on one of the vines, but nothing big. Other than that, I know I want some kinda of viney thing, not even sure if i want flowers. I'm hoping that wherever I go they can help me figure it out.

im pretty sure if you just explain what you had in mind- they could come up with somthing you are going to be satisfied with. That is how it happened for me!!!

I have to be honest and say that I was very AFRAID of getting one for the longest time- hence waiting until I turn 32. But now that I have it- and realize it wasn't as bad as I really thought it would be- I'm very satisfied with the results of it. The design is my favorite part because he was able to give me exactly what I wanted by me just explaining it to him off the top of my head. He drew it while I was talking- and now here it is- a reality!!! Get it if you really want it! Life is too short not to do what it is that makes you happy!!

I got my first tattoo on my 30th birthday, and have gotten four more tattoos in the two years since then. I've got plans for a whole lot more tattoos, but I have to wait until Christmas for my next one.

Very nice! I have 7 tattoos myself and I still want a ton more, I just don't have much money. The first tattoo I ever got was on my 16th birthday and I, too, got the birthday discount:) was this something you'd been wanting for a while? and why did you choose what you chose?
of course I can't find any good pictures of my tattoos at the moment, but I attached where you can see 2 of them I have a clover flower on the side of my wrist (i have wrist tattoos also) and I have 5 stars going down my arm.

I definitely want more! They're a bit pricey though otherwise I'd have tons more. I just think they're wonderful things and have no regrets and doubt I'll have any even when I'm 80. they probably just won't look as nice!
that's a great reason to get a tattoo :)

Thank you! wow- you have quite a few- do you think of getting more? I actually was very against marking the body for life such as tattoos- but once I turned 30 my outlook on life changed a bit and I just thought that I should live life in the now- and do what I felt for a change instead of alwys questioning it.

People who are sensitive or allergic to certain metals may react to pigments in the skin with swelling and/or itching, and/or oozing of clear fluid called sebum. Such reactions are quite rare, however, and some artists will recommend performing a test patch.
For those who are allergic to latex, use non-latex or use non-latex gloves. There is also a small risk of anaphylactic shock (hypersensitive reaction) in those who are susceptible, but the chance of a health risk is small.
Hope you are free from the side effects.. Wish you the best.

Hi there. Firstly, Happy Birthday to you...I have four tattoos on my body, that I dont regret, each of them have significant meaning and represent things that are important to me, if you know what i mean... I have one little tattoo from my school days, that you cant really see, which was intials, now faded almost gone... Our brother who's a tattoo artist, done them for me and I was lucky to get them really cheap... I tell you though, once you get them, you want another one lol. Even though it feels like a burning sensation, well thats what it felt like for me, especially getting the whole of my foot done, that was needle on bone lol and yes on the foot, that was really sore...

they are addictive- I can definetly agree there! And the burning sensation feeling was a great description for the pain- because personally when people asked me did it hurt and how- I was like it just hurt like heck!!!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY~! :) I think tattoos are definitely cool but too bad my religion prohibits it.. I like yours.. I think it's awesome. I've always like fairies, butterflies or cherry blossoms as tattoos. What made you pick that design for your tattoo? Well, i think it rocks.. :)

THANK YOU on the happy b-day :) I picked this design because I am a real fanatic about tinkerbell (Disney) but I never liked the fact that she was blond haired and white- because I am not ;) So I asked him to mix me with her- and the results were great! He really did a great job of highlighting the senuality in it!

Yes so true xkrista, It will always be there...I guess that is why I waited until in my 30's to get one. I wanted to be sure. And even though I have it I made sure to get it in a place that isn't visual professionally. They are very addictive though and can't wait to get the next one on my back ;)

Because the guy is a friend of a friend- I only had to pay $50.00. If I would have paid full price it would have easily been $150.00 or more most likely.

I currently have four tattoos, each one is unique as they are my own art work. I am working on another design at the moment and hope to have it finished soon, then i will have this done as a tattoo as well.

Congrats on your tattoo, and happy birthday too.
I have one tattoo myself and would love to add to it someday.
Like you, I also used to be very afarid of needles. In fact i would even pass out at the doctors office when I got shots. But when Iwas in college I decided to get my navel pierced, and well that huge needled pretty much cured me of any needled phobia I had....if fact I was pretty proud I handled that piercing so well.
Your tattoo is very pretty, I love the texture of the wings. It must have taken a while to do. Congrats on overcoming your fear of needles too!

Thank you!!! I had my navel pierced at 19 and BOY did that hurt- mine was a problem from the beginning because it never did heal right- so after a year- I took it out :( I would love to have it again- but DO NOT want to go through that...lol. The tatoo I have took about an hour and 45 minutes to do- I won't lie- it hurt like hell in some spots- but all in all- Im REALLY happy with it!!! Thanks again!
