I am just wondering how many people are smokers, Have you tried to quite and if so how did you do it?
For me I am a smoker of cigarettes only, I have tried to quite but i always seem to fail. I can't keep that urge away long enough to do so. But when trying I'd chew gum that don't seem to help. I didn't want to eat to gain weight cause i know it would be hard for me to get it off. My doctor told me the patch doesn't work that is just a waste of money so i never tried that.
What I don't get it's so easy to start smoking than it is to quite why?

Hard isn't it? I do try to keep myself busy so that I am not smoking as much but that tends to fail as well.. Some did post a site which is very intresting to me to help me stop smoking i'm sure you will find it as well maybe that might help us to stop. Have a great day and thank you for your reply!

I'm a smoker and I've tried to quit and failed. I did use the patches and they were a temporary fix. I used them as directed for 3 months and all was well in the 4th month. Next thing you know I was smoking again, and more than ever. That was back when patches were fairly new. Now they have all sorts of stuff on the market, but I haven't tried it in fear of failure. I can't afford to smoke more than I do now. It's a vicious cycle!

So you thought the patch itself was working when really it wasn't.. I was wanting to try the patch to see if it would really work but those things are like 60.00 for so many of them. I myself can't afford to buy such items. So trying new things such as doing more and chewing gum can help to a certain point.. Thanks for your reply and have a great day!

Yup,I'm a smoker. Do I like it? No. I've tried to quit, I even quit for several months once. Stress is what made me start again. I bought the gum, it didn't do a bit of good for me. Just left a strange feeling in my mouth. I do roll my own though. That does ease the cost of the nasty habit. I'm hoping someday I'll quit for good. It just won't be today.
I did have an old man approach me in the gas station this morning. ( I did buy a pack today, I was running late and no time to roll a pack) and he told me that I needed to quit, he said "just stop buying them, thats what I did." He must be one strong fellow, because I don't have the will power for that. Kudos to those who do.

It is hard when you have a very stressful life, I know I do and I think that is why I do smoke. Alot of people are strong enough to say enough is enough but than again alot of people have their weak spots as well like me. I'd say ok I'm done smoking but go light another one... Geesh that don't make any sense now does it. I do also hope one day I can be free from smoking that way when I do things i won't be so tired or out of breathe.. Have a wonderful day and thank you for your reply
