Wat da ya think a ppl writin like dis?

abbreviate is kind of difficult for me too and i find a lot of them in my sms inbox and take my time reading it and understanding it.Even i prefer taking my time to write the things thoroughly,so that my message is clearly understood by the person reading it.:)

It doesn't bug me that much if someone is doing it while we are chatting online or something and just having a conversation. On sites like Mylot it doesn't really make sense to me because if you are taking the time to write out a discussion or response, why not take the time to properly spell out your words? I have never typed like that.. maybe the occasional "brb" or "lol" but I don't try to abbreviate words like "ppl" and "dis"

I don't like the mutilated words.It doesn't save mush time or anything and it looks ugly.As I was reading your discussion the last line stands out like a very bad sore thumb.

I too hate it when people write like that. I think a lot of people are used to texting people and since its easier to shortern words like that, they get in the habit of doing in other things. But your right its annoying and I usually skip over such people lol

Jennie, this is the new generation English and it is a little hard for me to follow. My sons use this way though. I don't like it either. Languages and its usages often change from time to time, but dont see dis as gr8 :-)

I think people don't have the patience to either write or read full words, some of the abbreviations are read are so confusing that we need a key to understand them like they have in articles.
