"Are the bathrooms here clean?"

Do you ever find yourself uttering these words.
Last week my friend took me to a new restaraunt and I found myself uttering these words to him when I needed to go and he pointed out to me that this is something I often do.
I wouldn't say I have a paranoia about using other bathrooms but I suppose there are many times when I will just hold on until I will get home.
He responded with a kind of shrug and said "Yeah its a restaraunt!" And I must admit that I never even bothered going to check if I could use them cos he was not convincing enough.
Do other people do this? I figure it must be a very common thing cos if I am a bit sceptical about a bathroom then even if I could get myself in the cubicle then there is no way I could go.

You would think that restaurants and food shops would ensure that their bathrooms are clean,(especially with all the hygiene laws) but all too often they're absolutely crap (in both senses of the word).
The one that I found that was so clean you could actually eat their food off the bathroom floor was in Kennedy's Chocolate factory tearoom at Orton in the lake District (just along from Tebay). Some of the worst are in fast food shops (now you know what they mean by 'Fast Food' - It leaves your body just as fast as you eat it).

Pmpl do you know the other day I was at the passport office. yes that dreaded place where I had to spend four hours of my Friday morning in order for my little sister to get on the plane away with my sister and someone had absolutely stunk out the bathroom. It was just a cupboard that poened straight on to the waiting room. Surely if you knew you were going to the passport office then you would make sure you went for that poo before you left the house.

You are not alone. I have gone into soe bathrooms and turned right around and left. I tend to just hold it if I am not familiar with the restroom. I have been in some nice restuarants that have nightmare bathrooms so that is no guarantee. I have also been in some not so nice restuarants that have immaculate restrooms. I am very picky about my potty lol.

I always wonder if the bathrooms are clean- I always wonder if they have a bathroom- no matter where I go- It's one of the first things I ask- Where are the bathrooms and I check them out- You never know when you will have to go- I hate dirty bathrooms- I will choose the restaurant by the bathroom at times- I won't go to Chinese restaurants- as they aren't clean here in town-

I think it's a sign of getting old. I do this with many things nowadays at times where I wouldn't have batted an eyelid a few years ago. I often look around at litter etc and say to myself 'this is disgraceful!'.

I have a thing about bathrooms too. Most of the restaurants we go to do have clean restrooms but some of the convenience stores I've been in were terrible. I use to go with my husband some on his sales route and I encountered some pretty crummy bathrooms.

thats pretty much how i decide if i will eat there. if the restrooms are dirty, and unkempt then i don't eat there. most of the time when you go into a restaurant restroom you will find that an employee is in there and i always watch to make sure they wash thier hands too!

I usually figure if the restaurant is spotless, that they would not have a filthy bathroom. We traveled a lot and the restaurants we went to were not that good and yet the bathrooms were clean. I do not know about in the States, but up here, if the bathrooms are not clean the health inspector will come in and-==

OH, I am constantly asking that question. I hate going to a bathroom that is filthy. Nothing is worse than sitting on a toilet that is dirty because they either don't have people that clean it right or the people that use it don't know how to take care of it once they are done.

Yeah! bathrooms in the restaurants and other establishment for me is very important, if i want to use bathrooms i make sure that it is clean, i cant risk my health using unclean bathroom. Public bathroom or any bathroom from a restaurants have many germs coz there are so many people using it.
And hey, a tip in using a public bathroom the recommended actions for avoiding germs in public bathrooms was to always pick the first stall because most people pick the middle stalls so they are the dirtiest. But if the establishment has only one bathroom you have no choice but to sit there, for me if the bathroom is not look good and clean in my eyes i'd rather control whatever i feel and try to look for another bathroom that makes me comfortable to use.
