I pray for President Bush, even after all that I feel

I have given this alot of thought lately and today I sat down and prayed to God about the president. I cant change the world and I think war is the biggest manifestation of evil on earth. I get wrapped up and hot headed when I think about all the injustice that is going on in the war. I am not talking about insurgents or soldiers I am talking about all the innocent children that are being born deformed from exposure to depleted uranium. Or the children that have lost limbs or life because of war. War is a manifestation of our sins. I think about it and I could just break down and cry at some of the pictures I have seen and the ignorance of both sides of this conflict. We have a President that says he is a Christian and prays to God for answers well I hope and pray today that God touches him through the spirit and makes him feel all the suffering that is going on and helps him to make the right choices. No man can serve god and another master and its time he really started serving God and forgets about the other masters. I myself have decided that this problem is beyond me or anything I can do or say I have to give this one up to God and hope that in his wisdom and will that things are made better somehow. If God doesnt help Bush through the spirit than I hope and pray that God will certainly reward him by his deeds and actions.

I pray for both sides. Some people don't understand how I can do this but the answer is simple - I don't pray for countries, but I pray for people. And I pray for the people on both sides of the conflict. I pray that civilians will be kept safe and that soldiers will be protected and use good judgment and I pray that the people with evil in their hearts will be dealt with according to gods will. There is not really anything else I can do.

That is a very admirable way to look at it, I thank you for sharing that with so many. Know when to put it in God’s hands and pray for the best. It’s something I most definitely need to work on. So your point was something I needed to hear. Thank you, a “+” rated discussion by far!

Thank you for your prayers for our President. Thank you for urging others to do the same. I will add my prayer to yours as well as additionally urging people to pray for divine guidance to assist President Bush and our other leaders who must make decisions concerning this war.

This is a post we needed right now. The responses I have read are fantastic. I will join you, and others, in praying for the president, and ALL the other leaders, who command men, and make widows and orphans. I will not judge President Bush, because I know that that is God's job. War is human nature. Unredeemed human nature is evil. We have always had wars, and we will until the end of time. We should always have prayers as well, wrapping over the innocent, and lifting up the leaders. As I said, this is a timely post.

Selfishly, I must admit what struck me to move to do this was fear. "If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar" I dont hate Bush but my dislike is a bit too close for comfort so I figured it was time to do something about it. When it comes to politics I too often move the way of the world and forget to put my faith in the shepherd.

Thank you ever-so much for your prayers for our president. It is refreshing to finally see a thread that isn't outright bashing or demeaning him in some way (okay, so this was probably an expected from anyone who knows my political leanings!)... But really, many of you are right, we should pray for all people in this world regardless of where they stand on the political spectrum, and that God will allow whatever is best for our nation and for the people all over the world as well. No leader will be able to please everyone, so up to a certain point the best we can do is hope and pray that things will turn out for the better for all concerned.

I pray for President Bush and his cabinet along with the senate and house of reps daily. These men no matter where you stand on the war or how you feel the president is handleing the duties of the office, were elected by us. I would not like that job and I am sure that their heart breaks at some of the pictures and things that they have seen. Maybe that is why they react the way they do. I am glad we have a president that is active in trying to regain order instead of one like Saddam who wanted disorder

Not all wars are evil. Some times war is needed to cleanse evil. I think President Bush is the most misunderstood leader today. If it hadn't been for him the terrorists would struck in many other places. King David who was very close to God fought many wars. Joshua had to make wars before entering the promised land. President Bush's work will one day be praised and acknowledged by the whole world. Some times there may not be any meaning for some actions but time will tell the truth. If Neville Chamberlin had stopped Hitler in the days of Polish invasion, the world wouldn't have seen world war 2.

Thanks for your reply. I dont see children dying or being left deformed as being a necessary evil its sickening but obviously reguardless of how I feel its going to keep going, so all I can do is pray.

How can you give up? War is not the biggest manifestation of evil on this planet. 'All it takes for evil to happen is for good men to do nothing!' Giving up and allowing evil to happen is worse than war. The only way you can believe those children are suffering for the sins of this world is if you believe they have lived before.

Not at all I am afriad you totally missed the point of what I posted. They suffer because there is sin and greed in this world along with a whole lot of others. Do I give up? Nope I am asking God for help because this is something way beyond anything I alone can handle.
