Kidnappings in Nigeria

What do you think about the kidnappings in Nigeria? Apparently it has become a lucrative source of income for criminals. Just 2 weeks ago, a 3 yr old British/Nigerian girl was kidnapped on her way to school. Fortunately she was released a few days after unharmed and "no ransom paid". In my opinion,the government should declare martial law in that part of Nigeria to curtail these criminal activity, or at least increase military presence in that area.
