And do you use/need it more for business or personal stuff? I have a mobile (well, duh, who doesn't nowadays, lol), and take it when I go out in the car, but it is more for emergencies, not for socialising. When I do use it, it's mainly for texting. How about you, is your phone now a part of you, or you use it just when you really have too?

i can't live without it! even when i sleep, i put my cellphones right next to me ( my pillow). when i leave home and realize i didn't bring it, i will go back to my home and take it! i need it usually for personal. if it rings and i know it's about business ( my boss calls me ) i won't pick it up! wait untill he sms me.

Wow, you even sleep with your mobile! I do rely a little on my mobile, but probably not to the extent I would turn around and go back for it. I like your thoughts on the business side of it!

i agree with you...if its a business call, i don't answer it especially if its beyond working hours not unless if its company issued then i have to answer it. but mine is personal, so i juat wait for his text if it is really an emergency or urgent matter. have a nice day!

The only time when I leave my mobile at home is when I go for my jog. Otherwise, I do not leave home without it. The mobile is more for my personal use - watch and for sending text messagse while I am on the bus.

I'd probably have to take my mobile if I went for a jog, in case of heart attack. No, just kidding, lol! I find I use it a lot more for texting than anything else.

I use my cell phone for both business and personal. I left the house without it go run to the store and the whole time I was gone, I felt lost. I have two cell phones. One is my razor that I just got in Feb and the second one is my nextel hibred phone that has the direct connect on it. My family all have the direct connect and it is not on my razor phone so I had to get the second phone for it. I use almost all the services that my phones have to offer like GPS, Cell Phone tracking, TV and music on my cell.

With all those options, it is definitely more than just a phone. I like the simple things, otherwise i would spend way too much time on my phone, not ringing or texting anyone, either, lol!

I think some human made things have become a part of our lives such as mobile. Talking about mobile phones I dont agree that its just for emergenices. Today's world people hardly get a time to get more socialised, we dont have even enough time to have our lunch on time how can we expect to go out and have some chit chat with friends. So mobile phones is the only way we can keep in touch with our family or friends. I really want to go deeply on this topic but dont have enough time so next time i will write some more on this.

I think it is a sorry state that we are now too busy in our lives for the simple things like catching up with friends and family, and instead have to turn to the mobile phone to stay in touch! Maybe the mobile has made life too easy in some respects!

Yes, in times gone, it was only rich kids and business people who seemed to have mobiles! Now it's like you feel left out if you don't have one!

I have a mobile phone - this is my second one and I use it quite often to text a friend. I take it with me when I go out shopping but only so my man can get hold of me if he needs me. He had major hip surgery recently and has problems getting about even in the house - so the phone if incase he has an accident while I am out grocery shopping. When I am home in the USA I have one for emergencies only and use it when I am driving.

I think it is important when you are away from your loved one, especially if they are incapacitated in any way. I like to think mine is mainly for emergencies!

It is a good idea to always have your mobile with you, in case something comes up in regards to your family! I'd hate to be out of reach if an emergency arose with mine!

I always tell friends that my mobile phone is not a part of my anatomy. They always chide me because I do not always bring my celphone with me. And that most often than not I have lots of missed calls because I keep my celphone in my drawer:P So I guess the answer to the question is that, yes, I can leave the house without my celphone. But I don't leave it intentionally, I just tend to forget it sometimes.

Good for you for not having to race home and grab it if you forget it. I'm the same in the fact I like to take it with me, but if I forget it, no dramas, I just get on with what I was doing! If you can forget it, it means it isn't the main focus in your life!

I agree that if I leave home without my mobile, I think I'm more likely to break down, or something else. It's silly I know, but we can't help our thoughts sometimes!

Did you get that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you realised you didn't have it with you, or just get on with what you were doing? The mobile really has become an extension of ourselves!

You use yours a lot for business I guess, and if you worry the whole time without it, it is best to have it with you! I tend to think something may go wrong if I forget mine, but it is a silly thing to think!

No I normally will take my cell phone with me where ever I may go. Never know if I were to run out of gas or something happens on the road while I am going some where. Theirs actually been a few times where I've had to call the police because of drunk drivers on the road. Very scary stuff if you ask me. But I also bring it with me to call my friends and see what they are up or what they are doing when I am bored. I do have some friends that i text too, how ever not much sense it's 10 cent per text I send. I do kinda hold off on such things unless it's someone I really want to talk to. I'll text the person and say call me. They usually don't for hours but at least they know I want to talk to them.

yes, I guess the mobile comes in handy for everything, and drunk drivers should be reported. I usually just text so I don't have to have long chats with my friends or family, lol! I'd rather do it in person.

I forget mine about once every couple weeks. I don't get many calls, and only call people when I have to, so it's not that big a deal usually. But, the times I do leave it at home are the times I get calls.

Yes, how true is that, the one time you forget it is the time you'll get an important call. Still, if it's really important, they'll eventually get back to you. Guess as a doctor, as long as it isn't an emergency, it won't matter too much to forget your phone once in a while.

that's normal lolz though i need my mobile phone too bad as i am a doctor but still i will be over reacting if i go back home 20 or 30 miles to get it. if i am on hurry or many things going through my mind it's natural to forget my phone and then i just would try and contact my people different ways and when i am back i just check my phone and call back .. what can happen ,i mean crises are not waiting for the day you forget your phone hehe if it happens it will be coincidene

No, I need to bring my mobile phone as it is my only point of contact. In the past, there are pigeons, now its mobile phone. My mobile phone is a necessity as it is my point of contact, to the world, and to the people around me. Without it, it is like having a MIA (missing in action) status. I hardly back-up my contact, my only form of contacts are in my phone, hence, I will need it wherever i go. However, there are cases which I do not bring my mobile phone, that he when I go to the void deck across the road of my house, which is a shopping mall, where I purchase my lunch, or do some grocery shopping, which will not take more than 45 minutes. Then I would not bring my mobile phone.

Yep, some good points there, and at least the mobile doesn't poop everywhere, lol! I have an answering maching at home, so if someone can't reach me, they can leave a message.

My phone is part of me now. I used it not only for texting and emergency calls but as an alarm clock, to list important things that I want to do at a specific date, and also as a watch. I dislike wearing a wrist watch so I check time at my handphone. It is very expensive to make calls using handphone in my place. So, no social calls from my handphone. I used landline to make social calls, luckily local call is free here in NZ.

i can't leave home without my mobile phone. mainly, for emergency reasons. since i'm out of the house most of the time, it's my only communication with my family. especially with my daughter. if she needs anything or is in emergency, she can easily reach me and i would be able to help her. that's why i see to it that all of us have credits in our units. so that we don't have to worry why one is not ansering to my texts or sms. the mobile phone is a big part of our daily lives. business is just a secondary purpose for my phone.
