did you try being a virtual assistance?

as i was trying to look for a work at home in the net, i found out that there such thing as a virtual assistant. and as i researched more, i learned that this is exactly what i've been doing for the past years. and the only difference is that my superior is somewhere in the world. the communication would be manily through email and IMs. phone calls is possible since there's voip now. have you tried being a virtual assistant? me i'm still looking for a long-term project for this position. what do you think? can you really earn that much being a virtual assistant?
