Cat peeing in the bed.

My wife and I went on a three month vacation and had someone stay at our house to stay with the cat, pay the bills, and mow the lawn.
When I got home I found the cat had peed all over the bed... so much so it looks like it was done many many times.
The person taking care of the house swore the litter box was clean but both beds, a futon, and a couple of spots on the carpet were peed on.
The cat is fixed/male.
Is this from us not being home... from a female in heat coming around... ??? I don't have an answer.

I am guessing your cat did that because you were gone and he was not happy about it. Mine do the same thing even when I am home. I have no idea why mine do it.

I couldn't trust someone taking care of my house for three months. If I were you I would just leave my house unkempt and only gave messages to my closest relative to look after it once a week. I trust my relative more than a stranger. About the cat, I would give it to one of my relatives to take care in their house and I would pay them for doing it. I will close my house and not let anybody live in it. You know, people would do many things during your absence.

I think they probably got upset that you and your wife were not there. Their way of showing this is by peeing to let you know that they are unhappy. Have they stopped now that you are home?

I'm sure your baby just missed his daddy and mommy! Last night our cat Big Man was so upset by the new schedule that he climbed into the window and tore up the blinds trying to get at the yard cats. Normally, the outdoor cats don't bother him. But, he's been a bit on edge lately.
Cats are very emotional little people and often get just as attached to their humans. They're really territorial and most likely get upset when around strangers. And, let's face it, even if a cat knows the person they are staying with, that doesn't mean they are happy about it.
Next time you might make a video tape of yourself and spouse that the keeper could play for your cat. My cat watches himself on video all the time, and I swear he doesn't even know that's him. I'm sure that the sound of your voice would be very comforting for him. Hope that helps.
P.S. Please don't be too mad at your cat. He wasn't trying to be mean. But, be sure to use a really good product to remove the urine odor or he may accidentally do it again. Some of the best stuff on the market to remove cat urine is called Bane Brown Out. It neutralizes odors and stinky smells. When our Big Man was a baby he peed everywhere too, including the loveseat. But, after we used Brown Out, he didn't pee anymore and he laid up on the loveseat cause he couldn't smell the offending odor anymore.

I have 7 cats and they get really up set when we go away. It could very well be because you left them. I have one that will pee on my bed if one of the other cats is laying in her spot. Cats are strange creatures they do not like change in their lives.
