How often do you change your mobile phones?

In two years I've changed my phone once and that was only because I was stupid enough to leave my first one in a pocket and put it through the washer.(blushing in embarrassment) A friend of mine told me of a trick to dry it out by removing the battery and placing the phone in the oven at it's lowest temerature for 10 minutes. Believe it or not I was actually able to regain some function after trying that but, not all function. If the phone had just been briefly dropped in water and quickly retrieved that trick may have worked. A full wash and rinse cycle was just too much. Anyway...why does your friend change so often?...Looking for new bells and whistles or just has money to burn? Personally all I want my cell phone to do is make and receive calls I don't need all that extra stuff.
