I know there are a lot of people who keep their curtains and blinds open at night with all the lights on. When I'm driving or walking pass someone's home. If I look at the house I can see everything.(people getting dressed, walking around the house, people doing the nasty, watching tv,people eating etc.) I'm not even trying to look I can just see it.It does not bother me I'm just curious how many people leave their windows and blinds open all the time. I am a private person. I open my windows and blinds in the day for sunlight, but I close it at night because I feel like people are watching me when the windows and blinds are open all night.

That's true. I also wonder if these people realize that they are clearly be seen by people outside. I am aware of this. I know that when at night it is not advisable but on day time, I noticed it is not clear inside so that's the time that I open our blinds at home.

i really believe that people are aware of this. as i said, maybe they do this on purpose. they want to get people's attention. and so, they do this to get it. and they usually succeeds. hehe. anyway, it's just not nice to see people inside their houses at night just because they don't close their windows and blinds and don't even bother to close their curtains... anne

I leave my living room blinds open pretty much all the time. Sometimes I'll shut them at night. My bedroom blinds are almost always closed! I don't want to take any chances there! My kids's bedroom blinds are almost always closed as well. If they are open, it is only during daylight hours.

i close the windows, blinds and curtains at night. i don't like the idea of letting other people watching me as i do things inside my house. i want privacy, too.
i understand you saying that there are those who don't close their windows, blinds and curtains at night with all the lights on. i think they do it on purpose. maybe they want too much attention. just so unnecessary... anne

We just bought a new house in a really small town. We don't ever have anyone drive by our house except the neighbors across the street. There is an empty house on one side of us and an empty lot on the other side. Behind us is another empty lot, that has some trees and stuff on it. You can't see our house from the road behind our house. So really, the only windows that a person can see into without being in our yard, is the front ones. And we leave the blinds closed except for about 6 inches at the bottom of the windows in our room (so our cat can sit in the window and look out) all the time.
We do have a back door that is in our guest room that has a big window in it. We don't have any blinds or curtains on it or anything yet, and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable, even though to see in it, you would have to be in our yard. We just signed on the house last week, and I told my husband that one of his jobs this week is to put up a curtain or blind or something on that door, and down in the basement. We have a family room down there, so we will be down there at night sometimes, and if someone is lurking in our yard, I don't want them to see us.

I close everything at night: curtains, windows and shutters; sorry but I don't want anyone to enter my house uninvited (meaning stealers) and I have no problem with someone seeing me when I get dress because I shut myself in the bathroom ;P. Sometimes I pass some houses where there are windows and blinds open but it usually in the early evening or they have a kind of gate so no one can enter but usually I don't see anyone change or getting busy with open windows, maybe I see someone eating dinner or I see the light from a TV but nothing else.

If I was living in a high rise apartment I might think to leave them open but then again you just never know who could be looking in.
I usually close all the blinds whenever it gets dark, the thought of my neighbors across from us staring at me while changing, gives me the creeps LOL

i usually let my blinds close at night because i don'y want our neighbors can peepon with my windows and see my dressing up or something..during the day it's ok 4 me to open it up coz u know it's kinda hot..but then sometimes i open it up at night especially when its raining outside to feel the cold breeze while surfing the net...^-^

I always keep my curtains closed at night all the time especially if the lights are on. I really like my privacy and don't want to do anything to jeopardises it. I have noticed however, that there are people out there who always leave there curtains open at night with the lights on. It seems they don't care if people can see in to their houses or see what they are doing inside. That is not cool I think

I'm a very cautious person too. I lock all of my doors every night and make sure the blinds/curtains are all closed. I have seen people through their windows at night too, not intentionally, but I think people should remember that other people can see them and not do things that shouldn't be seen.
