I have been hearing this song before for so many times. When i was an elementary student, we used to sing this song in the classroom. "NO MAN IS AN ISLAND, NO MAN STANDS ALONE". If its like that, why do some other people opted to be single for life? It only means that they do want to stand alone, don't they? I am an independent person and have been living alone for many years in my life, but i still see myself being with somebody in the future. I dont want to be an island nor to stand alone. But like I said, why do some people prefer to be single and alone for life?

I don't think being single is always being alone though. It is on a romantic level, but there is family, and hopefully there is community. Unless you are really predisposed to being a hermit, people have a tendency to decline when they don't have interaction with others. We need each other to some extent, even if it is simply the farmer that grows our food.
