I think it really depends on what kind of shampoo you use to wash your hair everyday. I personally can't stand it if I don't wash my hair for a day and I have rather dry hair. Therefore, I would use some more gentle shampoo or natural shampoo to clean my hair everyday. I do feel that those shampoo do my hair better in the long run because it doesn't contain too much chemicals and it doesn't strip away too much natural oils from the hair. It actually improves the hair after a period of time. Now I would stick to only natural or organic shampoos.

Good for you icequeen that you have found the right brand for you even if you're using it daily, still does not harm your hair. can you share with us what brand you're using right now? I would appreciate it if you could share it with us here. Thanks in advance...

Before, I shampoo my hair everyday but I noticed I had lots of fallen hair and my hair is not that thick anymore. I also got lots of split ends. So what I do is I change my shampoo every month, alternate it with conditioner. So if I use shampoo today, tomorrow, I'll use conditioner instead. And once in a while, I also use baby shampoo and comapring it before, I had less falling hair.

I have a nice relaxing bath every night and I shampoo my hair as well, I think a nice warm bath helps wind me down for the day so I prefer to wash my hair at night and let it dry then hop into a nice warm bed, helps with my anxiety attacks.

Listen to your mother, she is right.
Using shampoo every day can dry out your hair, but it doesn't neccassarily cause split ends.
It is best to wash every other day, but condition every day.

Hello mageshis!!
I too have hairfall problem, i don't really know what shampoo brand is best for my hair. I too experience hairfall w/ split ends. But i better stop shampooing everyday as what most of the responders say, maybe at least 3 to four times a week would make a difference. Take care friend.

What kind of shampoo are you using, little sis? I heard from my own hairdresser that it is not necessary to shampoo our hair everyday. It can stripped our hair of its moisture and can dried up our scalp. I think this may be the reason for the split ends.
Another factor to consider is the type of comb or brush we are using. I wouldn't mind spending on a good quality brush that can last for a few years.
I'm currently using organic shampoo and conditioner. You know very well that I was born with a lot of allergies and the local brands available in our market doesn't suit me well. I also dislike the fact that most of it contained a lot of chemicals.

I'll let you in on a little of my beauty secret: I dab a few drops of coconut oil on my hair 2 to 3 times every night before hitting the bed. Goodness, you'll love me for this, little sis. It can make your hair super soft, super shiny and I'm sure your split ends will not be obvious. I'm using the coconut oil in capsule form (it's available in any Mercury outlet). It's less greasy than the one in bottle. I'm also using it as my nightly moisturizer. The best and cheapest one and the results are fantastic. You can even take it orally. Just swallow one or two capsules a day. There's too many benefits you can get from coconut oil.
As for the hair products, you can look for any health store in your area or ask a relative in Manila to buy Nature's Gate organic shampoo and conditioner at any Healthy Options branches. The split ends should go though. Head off to your hairdresser and give your hair a nice little trim. PM me for any queries. :)

most of the time I usually use the shampoo when I take a shower because if I dont it will be very greasy and flakey so I need to use the shampoo even though I dont like using shampoo because it gets into my eyes a lot of times and it iritates them and it takes a long time to rince off the shampoo becuase we have low shower pressure for some reason.

Yes I do shampoo everyday, even if I know that its not good for my hair but still i do it and still shampoo everyday. Aside from a daily shampoo I also use conditioner everyday, oh well, I hope it does not give much bad effect on my hair.

Some say it's not good for the hair and i do agree because i've seen bad results to my hair. To some it's ok, maybe you are lucky to have a very healthy hair and scalp if your not seeing bad effects on your hair with this daily routine. Tc friend and thanks for sharing.

Sometimes I would use my conditioner after I use shamoo but thats rare maybe once every couple of weeks I would only use it if its a real mess and very hard to comb because sometimes I have a hard time combing my hair so thats when I would use my conditioner even though I dont like to use conditioner because once Im done with shampoo I just like to finish.

Hello arcidy, as for me i can't do without conditioner, because if i don't it will make my hair tangly and very hard to comb and when it dried up it look dull.. :)thanks

i shampoo every other day cos it dries the hair ends. and everytime i shampoo i also condition it with very strong conditioner cos my hair is quite damaged.
also sometimes it depends on how warm the day is. if it's very warm and humid, or after i have just exercised, then i would defintely shampoo it even though i had already shampooed my hair yesterday.

Yes it's true my friend, because if we don't shampoo after a very sweaty day, it would really feel so sticky and i would be very uncomfortable. I don't want my hair to smell stinky.lol!! tc my friend.. :)

I'm not sure if that assumption is true because when there's a day that i was not able to shampoo my hair feels sticky and my scalp is itchy. I also read somewhere that we should wash our hair twice a day especially when your hair was exposed to heat and dust the whole day.

I guess it's true, specially if our hair is exposed to the sun and dust everyday... when i get sweaty after a hard day @ work or after i exercise i do love taking a bath. tc friend.

I don't use shampoo everyday when I take a bath. My mother just told me that it's bad to wash our wet our hair everyday. I don't exactly why but I think your mom is right. My mother has a diploma styling hair or whatever it's called and I guess I should listen to her since she knows "so much" about it.

I am not sure if shampoing everyday weakens the hair but I don't believe in shampoing everyday. I wash mine every other day cause I don't have oily hair and feel it is not dirty so why wash it. When I grew we were lucky to get a bath once a week since we did not have a bathroom to take a bath in. We all took a bath once a week in a steel tub. Everything is so easy now adays. It also depends on what kind of shampo you use on your hair too. Need to buy a good shampo for your hair to make it feel good and soft that is what I believe.

Hello Karen!!!
Wow!! bathing once a week? it must be so hard for all of you... or maybe it's always cold from where you're from, because here in my place it's really hot, i could live a day without taking a bath if i'll be staying at home and with nothing to do, but when i go out i just have to get a bath to feel fresh and comfortable...thanks for sharing though..tc friend

I shampoo my hair daily when I take bath. It hadn't weakened my hair so far as my hair are silky and soft. If I don't shampoo then my hair may end up brittled. You must use the shampoo which properly suits your scalp and hair type. Like I only use the shampoo for silky hair.

Good for you ashar that you have a healthy hair, i admit that having soft and silky hair is what i've always wanted.. maybe everybody does.lol and it's just right to choose a shampoo that really suits my hair.. well, my mistake because i'm not particular with what brand i'm using, maybe that's why im having unhealthy hair right now. thanks friend.

Well, I wash my hair one day yes and other day not hehe
I think shampooing hair everyday weakens the hair because you don't even give the time it gets to dry completely
Some people don't think so, but it's not THAT fast all your hair gets dry, specially on the top of it

I have an aunt who is a hair stylist. She advise me to shampoo my hair once everyday and not more then that as it will weaken the hair if you shampoo more then once. We need to shampoo our hair daily to clean it too. Also, it is advisable to bath in cold water, its good for the skin and the scalp =)
