The other day I was mowing the lawn. I know it's silly but I was barefooted.. Yes I know, not very smart.. But anyway while I was mowing the lawn I never noticed when I went right over the anthill of fire ants. For about 5 seconds you don't realize it, but as soon as 1 ant stings you they all do! I
hadn't noticed that I had fire ants all over my legs!! Immediately I brushed them all off and ran inside. Nothing happened at first, but about 2 minutes later huge welts starting forming on my feet and legs! They burned very badly.
So it was 3 days ago and I still have welts all over, I have tried everything to try and relieve the pain, so far the only thing that works is hot water.
I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some tips on something to help the pain. Thank you!

Oh too bad! I wish I knew of some remedy itmust be terribely itching all over. The best thing I have found is Fire Ant First Aid found at hortonsfarm.com It is a natural combination of propolis (a natural antibiotic produced by honey bees) and emu oil and can actually eliminate those nasty blisters. It is most effective when applied liberally on the bites immediatley after and during the first 45 minutes after being bit.
alternatively you can try
Chiggerex medicated ointment, found in most pharmacies. This will stop the itching and stinging.
Then apply Cortisone Cream 1%, Found in most pharmacy's. Rub in well after applying the Chiggerex to stop the inflammatory reaction.
lastly apply Neosporin ointment also found in most pharmacy. Rub this in last. Do this twice a day for three days and you will reduce the itch and sting, the inflammatory process and also the slight infection usually associated following the bite.
Hope you get well soon.

I have heard of many different things that people have suggested to this matter. I have heard of Listerine, sounds painful, You can use the same medication that is used for poison ivy to relieve the itch. Anyway, good luck I hope you get better soon!!
