Stiff Neck

I woke up this morning with a serious case of stiff neck. I have felt miserable all day. I used to get this quite often and I really hate it. I ended up going back to bed after I rubbed my neck in some concoction for sore muscles. It is a little better now, but I wonder if any of you ever had this problem, and how have you relieved it. I always thought that I got this condition so much because I was born under the sign of Taurus, and Taureans' weak spots are supposedly in the neck and throat area. What is your opinion?

Yeah, pain really sucks, TerryZ. I think Sagitarius' weak spot is the heel.

I only ever wake up with a stiff Neck if I have slept wrong or in a draft but I do not have that very often at all I think the last time was 5 years ago
Have you ever been to the Doctor with this
You might want to get it checked out

Very interesting about the taurus. I too am a taurus and often have neck problems. I use massage therapy to help with that. But for you, might I suggest different pillows? Perhaps yours are too hard or too soft. Do you sleep with one or two? I often find that if I use one pillow, so my neck is more straight rather then two that bends the head up, I will feel much better in the morning. Good luck.

I do sleep on two pillows, nicolec. I will try sleeping on just one for tonight and see if there's any improvement by tomorrow.

You must have slept in a funny position! A little massage as you have done using a conconction or liniment is a quick relief to muscle tension. You can have someone massage that part gently. You can have hot compress using a towellete and place it on the affected area. I have a wooden roller massager that I've been using anytime I feel uncomfortable with any parts of my body. I just roll it against my body and I feel relieved after several minutes. Being a Taurus, I think, has nothing to do with the condition you are experiencing now. All people one way or the other is having this kind of problem too.

Must have slept the wrong way or something..no? I used to get that myself years ago, when I had my one cat Bobbity (she was of a trio..Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo)--she used to love to literally sleep on my head...couldn't move a muscle..result a real pain in the neck...literally!--I don't necessarily think one's sign is an indicator though if one has health problems in a certain area...I often have foot problems, and I'm not Pisces...Scorpio instead

Yes, pyewacket, it is a real pain in the neck. It could also be a result of the fact that I was troubled with tonsilitis all through my childhood. I'll never understand why they never had them taken out. Bibbity, bobbity, Boo-that's just too cute!

that is so strange pal as my son Ross is Taurus and he is very prone to stiff necks , he has a very long neck too , when he gets up with a sore neck he has a hot shower and then sprays deep heat on it , that usually works , he thinks he must sleep in an awkward position too but I wonder if we will ever know , I hope you are feeling better pal xxx

Whenever I start waking up with a sore neck in the morning it is a sign for me that I need a new pillow. I sleep on my side so I need a good thick pillow that will support my neck muscles. Once the pillow starts to go I will start waking up with neck problems. Make sure you are sleeping with the correct pillow for the way you sleep.

Did you change your pillow? Whatever your zodiac sign is, this problem arises out of some wrong posture . You can go in for hot water fomentation apart from applying some ointment or gel or whatever. It will take time. After it is better , get some professional advice for some neck exercises that would not only strengthen your muscles but will guard you in future.Especially, if you sit in front of the computer throughout the day , it is absolutely essential.

I have gotten stiff necks from sleeping before. They are bad and last for a few days. I cannot do anything. I think it happens when my head falls off the pillows or I don't use enough of them. I am up to using 3 pillows in an attempt to keep my head propped up so I don't get any more neck aches. I am an Aries and hardly think that has anything to do with anything.

I also faced the same problem of stiff neck in the morning but after using these two tips I am fine now. first is to stop using pillow at night and second one is when you get up in the morning lie down on the opposite side of the bed with your head beyond the end of the bed as your neck will hang downwards and after few minutes get up slowly by taking a side don't get up fast and straight rather it will aggravate your problem. I hope it will help you as it helped me.

the best way to get rid of a stiff neck for me is to either find someone to massage it off, or if there's no one, massage it myself! A warm compress on the strained part would also help relax the muscles.. But I'm a firm believer that massages can cure all muscular pain, so I would recommend that.. It may be painful, but just massage it until you feel the area become softer (meaning the muscles have relaxed).
I don't think being a Taurean has anything to do with it! You just slept in the wrong position...

I usually get a sore neck when I sleep with more than one pillow. I usually just massage it myself or ask my hubby to do it if he is in the mood LOL. It usually goes away but still it's uncomfortable having it in the first place.
