happiness is a state of mind. given the problems each of us are facing today, can we say that we are happy despite everything? i am happy. i may not be rich, i may not have all the things a girl could ask for, i may not have eveything, but i am satisfied for who i am and for what ive got. you?

Considering my current situation, I'm about as happy as is possible. I could be a lot happier and I even know what would bring that about, but getting that to happen is a whole different matter. Sometimes just knowing a solution and reaching it are two very different things. There are considerable hurdles for me to obtain the circumstances that would really make me happy.

Happiness is not determined by the things outside us. It is you yourself who will determine whether you want to be happy or not. It is not the environment. As long as we are still alive, we can feel happy as much as we want to and as long as we want to.

I am a 41 year old, stay at home mom to the sweetest almost 3 yr old little boy who I thought I would never be able to have. Three years ago we conceived after over tens years of believing that we never could. I believe that everything I have ever done in my life was in some way preparing me for this time in my life. I have had a good career, I have traveled, I have been able to put away some money and now I am blessed to be able to stay home with my child and experience each day of his life with him. I am very happy!!! Would I change a few things? Sure, I believe that it is not healthy to ever become to comfortable and satified with things as that could lead to no longer learning and growing. I have a wonderful husband who loves me very much, a son who is a product of that love and a life that we are both very proud to be able to provide for our son. Happiness indeed.

Well...if you have that figured out and you are still a 'girl' then you should go far in life my dear. Many who have lived into advanced years do not look at life through your looking glass. I only figured out my priorities and what really mattered after I turned forty. But, after that...things really began to make sense. Now I am happy to report that I am happier in life than I ever was in my 'youth.' I have a career that I love, am happily married to my life and business partner, do work that I have been told makes a positive difference in the world, live in a lovely home in safe, rural community with 2 dogs and 5 cats. So yes I am happy, healthy and living within my means on every level. Took me awhile to get here...but not I intend to bloom where I am planted for a long, long time...if that is what is meant to be.
