I still don't understand why Dr. Strangelove screams "Mein fuhrer, I can walk," at the end. I've read something about it being metaphorical for the germans being liberated but I'm not quite sure I follow this... if the doomsday machine was activated then all living things on Earth would be killed. So, the germans would have no power being dead... or maybe I am taking the metaphor too literal? I don't know... can anyone ellaborate on this?
