I have just been re-watching the first two seasons of 24...
This is edge of your seat, nail biting stuff for 24 hours non stop. It is great entertainment and so much better on DVD... as you don't have to wait 7 days for the next episode.
Which make me think that today... some TV series like 24 are of much higher quality and value for money than any blockbuster movie.
What do you think?

I love 24-the series! Unfortunately, I've watched them out of sequence. I've only seen seasons four and part of season five so far. But, I am head over heels in love with everyone on the show. As you said, the shows are riveting. I am planning to rent the first and second seasons of 24 from online Netflix, a DVD company. They are really the best when it comes to home entertainment.
Currently, I am waiting for the new season of 24, to come out on DVD at Netflix and then I will rent it. As is, I don't simply have time to tune in on the proper day to watch first run episodes of 24, so I have to watch it on DVD instead. But, for me, that is preferable anyway. Since there are no commercials on the DVD episodes I can watch shows from beginning to end without interuption. Sounds like you are a real fan, so you should definitely try that idea too. I can guarantee that it will make a world of difference in your viewing pleasure!

For me it is the opposite. I saw the first two seasons when they came out and missed the rest. I just got myself the first six seasons and I am watching it from the beginning.
I have seen all the movies character heroes there is to see. But there is no-one who comes near Jack. James Bond is a p.ssy... and even Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and Bruce Willis in Die Hard are amateurs against Kiefer Sutherland in 24.
But Jack's daughter did drive me nuts in the second season. That girl is really bad news. She attracts trouble like a magnet. I think the second season also demonstrate how much deception there is in this world and the fact that no-one can be trusted.

I think you really need to watch it from the beginning with season one to understand the main characters. For instance... I have just started watching the third season... and if I had not watched the first two... I would not be able to understand a lot of things.

Oh, I don't know if Aussies can watch "24: in Australia :-) Yeah... I love "24". It is very entertaining, suspenseful and full actions. I would like to see more. I agree with you. It has a higher quality. By the way, can you also watch "American idols" or "Dancing with the Star" in Australia? I'm just curious.... I do know technology is already advanced but I'm just a bit surprised (LOL).

That's really funny Friendship... about the technology and the fact that two third of Australian television consist of American programs.
Yes we have all the most popular programs like 24, friends, desperate housewife, lost and a zillion others.
Yes we have American Idol but I bet you don't get Australian Idol (lol). We have our own version of dancing with the stars. We also have many of the reality shows and also have our own version of Big Brother which you don't have in America.
Australia technology is so advanced that we can download 24 from the Internet and save it on DVD. lol
