When I was little there were no TV's and a computer took up the space of a building ,now they are making body parts that act like the real thing , The mind boggles as to what will come next , xx
this was a clip in a Scottish paper today about another Scottish development it is fantastic xx

As a child in the 1950's I can honestly look back over the years and be amazed at the strides we have taken in science. What was once science fiction is now everyday fact, and I wonder what will be next

Wow that is amazing! It makes you wonder how technology will advance in 100 years, I know we won't be around to see it but when you look back 100 years and compare it to today, something we take for granted electricity wasn't invented then, let alone the computer! xxx

Remember the first tv's? They had little screens in big boxes. And, like you said, computers were big as a room.
Now the computers are getting smaller and the tv screens are getting bigger!

I do agree that science is wonderful and amazing. When I was still in primary school "decades" ago, I visited a robotics exhibition and I got myself frightened by the robots. These robots look so real that I cannot imagine how life would be when they replace humans.

I am a big supporter of science. Not so much due to great TV's & entertainment type inventions. More so due to the incredible advances in science research & medicine.
The more we learn about other animals, plants, andadvanced crop growing, etc, then the more we learn about important interactions.
Science teaching should be far bette taught in priomary schools than what it is now.

How absolutely marvellous! Imagine, 20,000 amputations in the US a year. It's a shame that so much money is spent sending space shuttles into space and on going to war when there are much better things to be done such as this wonderful invention that is such a boon to people.
I also loved the first 3 comments about the article...very clever. hahaha.

LOL, so now you are into bionic thingy eh. Science has truly evolved into something that makes our little ones more curious than ever. Unlike before, Science was considered a boring subject.
My two girls are part of the Mad Science Program in their school and both are having a blast with it. They never failed to bring home some of the weird things they learned. Just last week, they brought home this greeny, weird slimes where you can see it growing everyday inside the canister with only water in it. Slimy but fascinating, LOL.

It is truly amazing what we are doing now. The baby boomers are now reaching senior age - and suddenly there will be even more demands for newer and better technology and services to meet the growing needs of an aging world.

It certainly is amazing how far we've come! In 1969 I was 6 years old and man was just stepping on the moon! I didn't know what a computer was, heck we had just gotten a television to watch the event! I was furious that Sesame Street had been interrupted for it :) Playing outside was more common than it seems to be today and I think how far back that was and it seems like time has just flown by :) xxx

You are so right, weemam, technology is indeed wonderful when used in the proper ways. I know that this will bring many new possibilities to those who have lost a limb. Although nothing will replace the actual pre-existing member, this is truly the next best thing. Kudos to the inventors!
