If you do something that a friend considers to be
hurtful to them, even though its something as simple
as talking to her ex.
would you rather she sulks, does not tell you what
is wrong or risk the tears and discomfort of the truth? If the situation was reversed would you tell
them or fear their reaction?

I would tell them if I had talked to their ex. I'm an adult and can talk to whoever I want to. Now dating a friend's ex is a totally different story. I would never do that. If you are a true friend, you wouldn't date an ex of theirs.

I agree, dating an ex is out. And told them so,
each time I spoke to him I told her about it.
(very few)
I am glad she told me how she feels instead of
silenty resenting me.
