I am so furious right now

I am so angry, I am beside myself. About three years ago, we went through a strategic plan because they went to three regional offices. The closest one was hour away, and in a very difficult place to get to. My doctor did not want me commuting because of my health issues. Luckily, there was a department that I was able to transfer to, doing the same job. Recently, a co-worker was given a job rotation as the supervisor. He has been hell on earth, trying to change any and everything he could. He has caused upset in one way or another with all of us. Today we had a meeting, and something came out, that he is now trying to offer costs cuts to the higher b's. and is making suggestions, for a regional center for the department I am in, which would mean that I could lose my job as well as others. I am so furious, that he is trying so hard to make a name for himself, and to make himself look good, that it is at our expense, and mine. He is out of control between changing all the policies in the department, but this tops it. He is affecting livelihoods here. If this were to happen it would put me out of a job, as I physically could not commute. Just because he is so dam intent on making himself look good, and the best thing that ever happened. I am so enraged, I can't even see straight.

I agree with you Gabs, we do need to get together. Unfortunately, you can't fight by yourself. The others complain about it, but when it comes to doing something about it, they don't want to. I on the other hand, can't fight the battle alone, believe me. My co-workers look for me to be the one who gets in there to handle it. No more. It makes me look like I have the issue, and no one else does. I can tell you that he is an self centered, ego maniac. Eventually, he will take it too far. I just hope it happens before he causes any havoc for the rest of us.

Awww, cricket. Chill out and try to take 100 deep breathes. I can very well understand your sentiment. I went through this kind of happenstance too but I persevered and showed my boss that he can't easily kicked me out of my position.
There are some people who love to court their bosses by trying to step on other people's toes. Why not have a private talk with your boss and air out your concern about this co-worker. That is your privilege and don't be afraid to express anything to your boss. I wish you good luck and hope things will ironed out in the end.

Unfortunately, that won't work with him. People have tried, and he just tells them, well you may not like it, but I am going to do it my way. He is too cocky and has a big head. Believe me, I have tried to talk to him and it only back fires. He gets even if you try and talk to him. It is not fun.
